I found the women's museum to be haphazardly put together and ill -researched. The photo-copied pictures and stories were accurate enough, but dresses were primarily later pieces. The jewelry on display was mainly mid-20th century rhinestone. The oldest jewelry piece was a broken wristwatch from around 1915. In one room they have an 1880s bustle tied around the neck of a seamstress' dummy, as though it were a weird corset - or instrument of torture. A little more research and a lot more respect for your subject would make a world of difference. If you care about women's history, this "museum" is not...

Other Civil War museums have done many of the same displays but by centering on Women, this one makes the patron reflect on the bravery of our ForeMothers!
