Frank Phillips Home — Attraction in Bartlesville

Frank Phillips has been a hero of mine since childhood. I grew up in Osage County and went to Woolaroc atleast once a year as a young boy, but I've never been to his home in town. What a gem! My wife and I did the Director's tour, it is worth it to see a little bit more. The foundation has done a great job of preserving the Phillips' home. Our guide was very knowledgable and passionate and made the tour a real treat. I learned a lot and will definitely be back to enjoy the place.

If you are coming from out of town I recommend making a day of it and visiting Uncle Frank's ranch & museum out west of town. It's a short and beautiful drive into the Osage hills. Visit the Mansion in the morning, and the ranch after lunch. They even have a cafe there that serves Bbuffalo burgers. This mansion is definitely worth the visit. Lovely home, I thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the guides takes you on the tour, answers questions. There's an elevator indoors to get to 2nd and third floors. One room, library, is sunken but I think a wheelchair or scooter bound person could still easily view the room. I just dont recall if theres a wheelchair ramp but I'll bet there is. Free parking. After leaving the Woolaroc Museum, we wanted to see the home of Frank Phillips. Of course, it was closed on Sunday's. I am sure it looks great inside. We could only drive by to see it. I thought it would be bigger than it was. It is in the middle of town. I guess when it was originally built, it was probably one of a few homes in downtown Bartlesville.
