3 stars for a Costco with great markdowns if you get lucky with time and can stop by in the morning, but I've found over the years Costco has stopped putting customers items in boxes or even asking if they want boxes. Which if that's how service is gonna be it sucks then fine. What is frustrating is that every time I go there, there are about 3-5 employees at all times just aimlessly collecting boxes to bring up front but if I'm being honest most of the time they are just chatting up with coworkers and standing around. Why have employees pretending to collect boxes for customers but then don't offer to box them up anymore. Then they have the giant cart of the collected boxes in-between the bathroom and snack bar so it's a high traffic area to get a box to organize your things yourself and hard to get to. If you're lucky enough to get a box and space to arrange your stuff. Then the only people in the warehouse who take their jobs very seriously, the receipt checkers, pull every single out of the box. I took time to organize my items so they don't get left behind in my car when I unload and explode in the cold or so I don't have to make a million trips carrying groceries inside in -27 wind-chill.
Why not put the cart of boxes you guys don't want to use to box up our items for us anymore by the exit? That way we can box up our items after we've had our cart thoroughly ransacked by the receipt checkers.
I get times are changing but it's these little things that add to the experience of shopping at Costco. Between the declining service provided to customers, lower quality produce that sent my husband to the hospital(thanks now I have thousands of dollars in ER bills), the food offerings for take home meals have also declined last time I went there were significantly less options, and increasing prices. It's hard to find reason to shop here besides cheap gasoline.
Costco used to be such a joyful errand, but now has to be tackled with the right kind of mindset because of the corporate cut backs.
And since I'm getting everything off my chest, make a established line procedure for the self checkout lines. It's insane fighting for your life to check out with two items when 5 people with carts full to the brim are trying to create their own new line for the self checkouts like it's the checkout line at a...
Read moreI would give this store ZERO stars if I could. The “assistant store manager” Eli was everything but pleasant. This was my first experience returning an item to a store location. I purchased a DJI Drone and on its first voyage I discovered it was defective. I called Costco’s Concierge Support and they stated that I could either ship it back with a prepaid shipping label or return the item to the store. Since the store is within close proximity to my residence I opted to go to the store which was my first mistake. I initially was welcomed by friendly staff that tried effortlessly to exchange this item but were out of stock in the store and online. To return this type of item they said they needed approval and that someone of higher ranking would be over shortly. After waiting 15 minutes I was approached by an “Assistant Store Manager” named Eli that threw a piece of paper on the counter and said I needed to call the number to DJI directly as they don’t deal with defective items even though my item was well within the 90 day return policy. I’d like to make note that this was my first experience where someone in a customer service position couldn’t have a civil conversation without immediately cutting the customer off. I asked him about the return policy in which he responded he was well aware of the return policy and wouldn’t be honoring the return policy. I then asked for the store manager who took nearly 40 minutes to walk from his office but had the time to repeatedly call the return desk to get my item number, name and costco number. He also did everything in his power to not let me return this item as he stated they would have to throw it away. After a hour and a half the store manager finally offered me a gift card to Costco for the amount of the drone which was over $1000. I denied the offer as I thought this was unacceptable being the issues I’ve already went thru. After another several minutes got my money turned to my credit card. Don’t waste your time with this store. I’ll be calling customer service from now on if I need to...
