Changed my review after a carpet install: Sadly, I'm having to decrease my review score due to their business practices and partnerships.
I had a great experience placing my carpet order in the Brainerd, MN store - the associate was good. However, when the Crew2 individual showed up to measure for the installation, they created the job with 5 - that's FIVE - seams in the carpet. I found out after researching that this is not unusual according to their Better Business Bureau listings - should be called sCrewU not Crew2. The actual install had ONE seam. This resulted in an order that was literally double the amound of carpet that needed to be ordered. Now I have an entire room worth of carpet that I don't need sitting in my garage that I overpaid for... what. the. heck. The installer was great though! I won't buy or do business with a company that over-inflates their order estimate intentionally to make more money. That is unethical. I'll go through a different flooring place next time.
Old initial review: The Home Depot is probably one of my favorite stores... I've got a deep appreciation for all things tool related. 🤣
I've never had a bad experience in their stores. Prices are as expected. Service is great (always friendly). The assortment is typically good. Returns (when...
Read moreBought a Kitchenaid dishwasher and had it delivered only because Home Depot will not install in my area. I had my licensed plumber install it and immediately upon turning it on, it had an error code saying the machine was over filling when it never even filled with water. He tried troubleshooting it and it still didn't work. It was past 6pm on Friday and when I tried to call on Saturday both the Kitchenaid phone number and Home Depot phone number said it was outside their business hours and to call back on Monday. I wanted it documented that I tried to call on Saturday so I opened a repair request (that was the only option that even came close to my need). They set me up with a local repair center and said they would be out Monday morning. They never showed up and when I called the local repair place they said Kitchenaid had no business scheduling him and that he couldn't get to me for 2 weeks! I contacted Home Depot and they said because I was outside the 48 hour return window I couldn't return it. What a scam to not allow for a Friday evening delivery/install. I will never buy a Kitchenaid product or buy from Home Depot again. I also had purchased blinds for my house last fall to find out that you really aren't buying from Home Depot, but through...
Read moreI have never had a bad experience with HD until today. An employee referred me to HD to purchase a Milwaukee Heated Jacket. I purchased the jacket and noticed I was charged sales tax on clothing. Minnesota is exempt from sales tax on clothing. I pulled up 3 other stores to check if sales tax is applied at purchase. Ryan M was the manager or supervisor on duty. Ryan was very rude and snotty. Ryan said that there is no Amazon in Minnesota and as for the other local stores, I never completed the checkout for purchases on the web. Supposedly after you push the complete button it will charge you tax even though sales tax is at zero. I'm very unhappy and will not give anymore business to this establishment. Very pathetic since I would have said HD is a five star store before this incident. $15 in tax on a non-taxable purchase is 4 gallons of gas. The Jacket was returned and I wasted my time and gas driving 40 miles from home to purchase only this item! Thanks Ryan M, I wish I could give zero stars for the insulting service I received from you today!
Update: It was kinda funny that I didn't use the HD app. If you purchase to pick up in the store, no sales tax is applied...
