Dark Tide Gallery — Attraction in Beaufort

I went to dark tide to get a sleeve done. I went in to get my consult and put down my deposit, that’s where I met with my artist, Mike. Super cool guy, we talked about my design, which was a ship, Poseidon and a kraken. I showed him some pictures for references and he told me his prices, we scheduled it and that was that.

I came back the day we scheduled and Mike showed me the design he had, which was incredible, and I was pumped to get started. Immediately he puts a remote in my hand and tells me I can watch whatever or play music from his streaming services. Never had an experience like this getting a tattoo, and I’m not new to getting them. We decided we would do the Poseidon piece first, we got started and everything was great, we took breaks, we got lunch and turns out me and Mike had some interests in common so that made it even easier talking and hanging out with him.

We had a full day session, and that was the longest I’d ever sat, it honestly flew by, some of the other artists came and hung out with us too and talked, they made everything so comfortable.

We finished up for the day and the tattoo is so amazing, better than I could’ve imagined. I’m so happy with it, I’m excited to go back for my next sessions. This place is awesome I’d recommend it to anyone looking to...

The Friday the 13th sale is a steal, I’ll give them that. Ollie did a little flash tattoo for me and was very polite and friendly, I had a good experience with her overall. She seems super sweet, had a clean work station, and did clean lines; if it weren’t for the vibe of the rest of the place I’d probably come back. Unfortunately what soured our experience with this shop was one of the other artists’ (Sacha’s) attitude toward having our 1-year-old son with us. There is no signage posted prohibiting children in the shop, and he didn’t make a sound the whole 20 minutes we were in there (except to say a little “hi” to another baby he saw in one of the studios) and yet she walked in and gave the rudest look of disgust at him she could muster and told us we would have to leave if he made any noise (which was a given). Let me start by saying Dark tide has to be the cleanest, well lit tattooing shop I've ever seen. Everyone there was so friendly. My sister & I was tattooed by Mike, first of all this guy is so talented & incredibly funny!!! My sisters & I were in there cracking up almost our whole visit! Mike blessed us with two tattoos (one each) of the ever beautiful Lotus flower.....all I can say is it nearly brought me to tears....it's absolutely gorgeous! I Love it !!!! Can I just say the amount of concentration he has as he works is amazing & yet he stayed engaged with the three of us...real nice! The energy here is so welcoming. The guys here really do care.
