Food Lion — Local services in Port Royal

Although it is a nice store in general, well-stocked...my issue is with some of the employees, specifically 2 ladies working with cooking chickens. The shelves were empty of any cooked chickens. When asked for rotisserie chickens, the first worker with an attitude said they didn't have any when immediately behind her a full oven had rotating chickens. We asked what about those? Again with an attitude said they're not ready. We had to ask when they would be ready. Reply was 15 min. We shopped for over 20 minutes then returned. The co-worker was frying another lot of chickens. We asked about the rotisserie chickens. It seemed like we bothered her. With an attitude like her co-worker, she said she was only working with the fried chickens now, not the rotisserie!! We had to ask when the rotisserie chickens would be placed out. Reply: come back in 15 minutes. This must be the standard Reply. We left the store and traveled to Publix on Lady's Island where the employees are decent and polite! We just moved to the area recently from the northeast where we were looking for some southern hospitality: it doesn't exist here at this Food Lion! We will never return to this supermarket. Wrong people with no customer...

New Food lion, still needs time to get their shipments sorted out as a lot of products still not being stocked correctly. The important thing is that they finally got fried chicken coming out of the deli. The $10 fried chicken meal is a number one dinner option. So happy they have it now.UPDATE 4/15/22 the store still has inventory issues and not sure how regular the fried chicken is available but the young lady working deli got me my 8 piece for dinner. Many thanks to her. Cashier and bagger were very friendly .6/30/22 The store is doing much better, more associates and more inventory. I have to mention that the deli seems to be coming along but they have a lunch schedule now which means if you want 8 pcs of fried chicken you will need to have two four pc (lunch) bags combined. After 4pm they put out 8 pcs bags for the meal deal. 6/24/23 PI Gateway store- amazing 8 pc fried ckn on sale and yet only 4 pc available. Dear Food Lion, Oh my heavens. Our cashier was uncaring of our groceries. She just tossed our groceries in the bags. So frustrating to get home, yogurt on top of sliced cheese. The spinach container couldn't handle the pressure. Thank God, we're using that up now. Do y'all even have bag training anymore? How to pack grocery bags. And to at least conduct yourself in a professional manner that you care about the customers? My impression was she didn't give a rat's pah-too-dee, about her customers. This is not the first time this has happened. It's just the first time I'm voicing out. It's a hit & miss. Some care. And some don't.
