I have been here many times and come away with some nice captures. Today I saw another Bald Eagle and this one actually had a large stick in its beak, unusual for late October. This pond will produce some nice winter migrating ducks like Hooded Mergansers, Scaup, Common Merganser, Ring Neck Duck, Buffelhead. I have seen the Bald Eagles here with the Clacking Geese are a plenty along with the Canada Geese and mallards. The GBH / Great Blue Heron is the star of this pond they are typically here all year along with the Mallards. - Nutria are pretty active here too and in the spring it is very busy at this Wetlands.

The GPS took me to a parking lot of a business park. From here I had walking access to the water and unmarked trails. As I was waiting in my car to hop out, a Blue Heron flew over me and landed about 20 feet from my car! It was so wonderful to bird-watch. So many other birds too, such as Red winged blackbirds, Canada geese and a variety of ducks.

Paved trail over Beaverton Creek and along Johnson Creek. Nice walk for watching birds. Trail pavement is in good shape except for a few locations. No public parking near the trailheads. There is a private lot near the Millikan trailhead. We parked at Tualatin Hills Nature Park and made the dangerous crossing on Millikan Way. There were a couple of trash cans and benches along the trail. No restrooms, but there are clean well maintained restrooms at Tualatin Hills...

Google maps takes you near a parking lot that if you know where to go puts you at one end of the trail. I would recommend looking at satellite view before you go so that you can find one of the starting points of the trail. One with a clearly marked sign is actually off of hwy 8 and the other is in a parking lot close to train tracks (not marked). My nature loving daughter (6 years old) enjoyed herself, but there are better nature...
