Unsatisfactory Experience for Families with Young Children

My recent visits to the library with my 20-month-old have left much to be desired, primarily due to the disappointing customer service, especially directed towards children under 3 years old. On two separate occasions, I encountered issues that significantly marred our experience.

During my latest visit, I was informed by Mora that my child could not access the magazine area, citing it as exclusively for adult reading. However, upon further investigation, I discovered that there was no official rule enforcing this restriction. This inconsistency in enforcing policies added unnecessary frustration to our visit.

Similarly, during a previous visit, another staff member, whose name I unfortunately missed due to attending to my child, abruptly informed me that my child could not play with two toy sets simultaneously at a table. This interaction was brief, and I was unable to address my concerns before they left. It's disheartening to encounter such rigid enforcement of arbitrary preferences disguised as rules, especially when they hinder the enjoyment of children.

Customer service should prioritize effective communication and problem-solving. It's crucial for staff to engage with patrons respectfully and ensure that issues are fully addressed before concluding interactions. When working in a library frequented by children, patience and understanding should be paramount.

In summary, the lack of consistent and accommodating customer service for families with young children detracts from the library's appeal as a welcoming and inclusive community space. I hope that management will address these concerns to create a more positive experience for all patrons, regardless of age.

Wonderful library with a good selection of books and DVDs.

I love that you can request a hold to be placed on any book that you wish to read. It's so convenient to place a book on hold, get an email telling you that your book is available, and go in to pick up exactly the book you wanted to read.

I've stepped in this particular library , since we moved here this past year . I gotta say , this place is a magical little place. What stood out to me was the wide variety of video game selection.
