Being within walking distance of this place, it’s nice to have a pub that isn’t a car ride’s away. The area around Bethany Village is limited to a few eateries, so it makes sense that the Public House can get away with charging the prices it does. This place was... fine. That’s it; fine. I really wanted to try it because it feels like a staple to the area, but the only thing I found going for it is the atmosphere. There are a lot of groups that eat here and relax, so the energy is very prominent and real. However, while I can only vouch for their limited happy hour menu (they don’t serve their whole menu until 5pm), the wine is so-so. The salad was tasty enough for the price, but then, nothing else really sounded good. The servers are a bit awkward, but it wasn’t a bother. All I ever hear about this place is how it’s too expensive for not so great food, so my review as is: an average place for groups to gather.

Ordered to go tonight. Service over the phone and in person was great. Unfortunately, all of our fried foods - fries, tots and onion rings - were soggy. The onion ring batter was like a cake. Way too thick and no taste. We made the mistake of ordering the salmon. We were served a tail piece. It was dry and lack taste. The green beans that came with it was awful, not fresh. That was a waste of money. The BBQ bacon burger was ok, unfortunately instead of lightly fried onion strings, it came with the super thick battered onion ring that had no taste. It’s sad for a neighborhood restaurant. It’s got to be better than that. It was disappointing to spend so much for that as we ended up not eating and throwing away a lot of it.

I've always ordered food here to go during covid which was mediocre at best. I knew they had outdoor seating on the patio so I was excited to take a friend with me there for dinner. My mistake. Too many things to mention individually so to sum up: the service was atrocious, the food was subpar, and a lava cake cooked through like a dried sponge? Terrible experience. I actually live in the neighborhood so it's too bad that I will never return.

I've now had a mediocre experience here, a decent experience, and a pretty bad one, the bad being most recent. I'd dismiss the most recent experience if it wasn't so obviously just part of what this place has become.

We were "greeted" by a very disinterested person, and asked where we'd like to sit. I said it didn't matter, and was met with "it doesn't matter to me." Don't force me to figure out your place when I first walk in if I don't have an opinion, just pick something, but no I had to look around and figure out where we wanted to sit. I watched him some from where I was sitting, and his disinterested attitude didn't change, even including playing with the pen cup while greeting someone that walked in. This was the theme, though, and it seemed pretty clear that they had all or nearly all new staff working tonight. I don't know if they've had a staffing issue, as most places have, but it seems like everyone that was decent here the last time we were in may have quit. Our server at least tried, but she was not trained well on her job.

The food is why I'm writing a review, though. The boyfriend paid $15.50 for four mediocre street tacos with three tiny cups of "sides" - salsa, seemingly frozen reheated corn, and bad baked beans (literally tiny - like you'd get a side of ranch in). This was completely disproportionate to my $17.50 Philly cheesesteak that was too big for its small plate. I'm not complaining about the portions on mine, but nothing about it seemed fresh. The peppers were mushy, the sandwich was soggy, and there wasn't much flavor to any of it. I would guess that it was frozen like that and microwaved. The fries looked good, but were bland and mushy, as well.

I'm not typically disappointed by a bad meal out, as I just know to avoid that place the next time. This was disappointing, however, as I expected...

Enter at your own risk.

My first impression trying to make a reservation for a dozen people was horrible. I was celebrating a personal accomplishment and want to have a few friends get together. My email communication with Bethany Public House quickly showed me that they were unwilling to plan ahead with me to accommodate a small group.

Being that I was given some gift cards from a friend, I chose to check out the restaurant. My girlfriend and I had lunch on Sept 6th. The food was good, the service was good, and I felt comfortable bring my close family and friends back on Sept 13th even though the email communication was off-putting.

When about 10 of us showed up on Sept 13th at 5pm I was greeted by Brad. Brad recognized me based on my request for a table that would accommodate at least a dozen. After an abrupt disagreement I asked Brad if we needed to go eat somewhere else or if he needed a few minutes to get a table together for us. After looking around the empty restaurant I asked if he would like ten minutes to get a table ready. Brad complained about my "ultimatum" and maintained his standoffish demeanor until finally offer to prepare a table for us.

The service and food was on par with what we received the week prior. However, If I wasn't given gift cards I would have never eaten here. This establishment does not care about it's customers or the level of customer service they provide. They will not get a 3rd...

If you have food allergies specifically celiac, beware. I ordered takeout here recently and the food was great. I got an impossible burger with gluten free fries. It was all great. I ordered again tonight and got the same thing. When I got there they informed me that they ran out of gluten free fries so they subbed for gluten free tater tots which is fine. But when I got home, the burger was something completely different. It wasn’t an impossible burger, it was just a vegetarian black bean spicy thing. It was gross. I took one bite then I saw it, whole chunks of corn in it and I’m allergic to corn so this night is bound to be miserable. I called and asked what the name of the brand is so I could verify it’s at least gluten free and they couldn’t tell me. They said they receive them in packages and then they put them in other packages so they don’t know what they’re serving but felt confident enough to claim it is gluten free. I called back again because I’m certain it isn’t gluten free either and they refunded but they were like “yeah the vegetarian burger, we ran out of impossible burgers”. They should really call to tell you before changing your entire order. Will definitely not...
