Kubo in Bethany is a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality. Rex is an absolute treasure – his attentiveness, spot-on recommendations make every visit a delight. Rex has even been generous to provide samples but sometimes that makes it all the harder to make a decision. Honestly, everything on the menu is so delicious, it's hard to choose. Our absolute favorites are the Dinuguan (pork in pork blood), which is often called "pork in chocolate pudding" as the description may turn people off. But don't let the description fool you, it's incredible! We also love the Lechon Kawali (crispy pork belly) and the sizzling pork sisig. The Laing is so flavorful. And let's not forget the Halo-halo – it's a meal in itself, even though it's considered a drink! Dessert 🍨 and drink in one. Rex is so kind, and even though the location is pretty small, which is unfortunate for our large family, which is why we don't frequent it as often as we'd like, but it's ambience is cozy and welcoming. However, this is one of my favorite places to sneak away to. If you're looking for authentic and flavorful Filipino food with exceptional service, Kubo is a must-try. We can't wait to go back. On occasion we do take out but nothing is like conversation with Rex whose passion towards his craft and home country is undeniable. Thank you for bringing this...
Read moreMy wife is Filipino from the Island of Cebu and has cravings for more authentic food. I am always in search of something that can fill that! We had 3 dishes here and they were GOOD! I’ve been to Cebu many times (Not all over the Philippines) and have had different foods there. So the taste from the Philippines definitely takes place here, they have a good take on Traditional Philippine Food. We like a Fusion of Filipino food, but my wife says it never really hits the spot. To add: The owner is the one handling the front and serving and helping his wife and sometimes daughter that helps them out, he is very open and kind man, with a humble viewpoint of keeping to a traditional way of making foods and warm the heart and souls of there customers. To add there isn’t a lot of seating inside but there is outside with heaters. Prices are a bit high but really everything is nowadays with the fact that these ARE NOT frozen but made from scratch. The experience was great! We hope that “Kubo” NOT ‘magna kubo’ which something COMPLETELY different keeps receiving a good customer base so we can enjoy...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of experiencing Kubo's cuisine for the first time. Despite the considerable travel distance, our visit was well worth it, driven by previous recommendations and personal interest. We were genuinely impressed by the quality of the food; each dish we sampled, including the sinugba, palabok, and Filipino-style spaghetti, was both fresh and exceptionally flavorful. Their commitment to customer satisfaction extended to their takeout service. The careful packaging of each item was evident, especially with the sinugba, where cold ingredients were intentionally kept separate from the hot portion. We particularly valued the owner's thoughtful instructions on how to plate the sinugba at home. Furthermore, the personalized service, such as the owner hand-delivering our order to us outside, significantly enhanced our experience. Kubo stands out as an excellent establishment for authentic, fresh, and delicious Filipino food. We strongly recommend it and eagerly anticipate our next opportunity to explore...
