I feel warranted to share my experience with the Bethany Mapel team and the owner from a customer standpoint and as a business neighbor at one point. My business is no more so I feel empowered to share my story.
The owner and her staff would purchase plants & pottery once I opened my new business (flower + plant shop) and I was so excited to network. I would stop by and buy the occasional overpriced items to show my support. Their sizing is not great and they offer mostly to petite sizes btw.
Then I noticed they started to resell the plants in the same pots that they purchased (with a plant care card!). While they have free will to do what they want, that kind of integrity didnāt sit well with me and told me a lot about their values. Also, their small sizing also says a lot about them. I understand business is competition, but that kinda low blow of competition is gross. Even my regulars caught on as it was so obvious. When I confronted the owner of this, she was quick to dismiss me and not understand how distasteful it was.
My experience with her & her mean girl staff didnāt stop there (Iām happy to share more if anyone else is interested). Iām glad I stood up for myself during my time as a business owner.

If you miss a minutia of a minute on their return policy it will be nil. The return policy is 10 days!!!! Do not think you are being thoughtful & buying early in any situation. My mother-in-law had a birthday, 82, I thought ahead with a gift since she was having a surgery as well. I had quite enough in my plate so knowing the future would be difficult I shopped early, locally, as I truly believe in supporting small local businesses.
I have never returned anything from there until my recent attempt. I have purchased easily in the thousands of dollars. I really was shocked š® To be treated as I was. Again employees are fine the āvirtual ownerā needs to have some gratitude for their customers. I hate leaving this message, but being dismissed in such a way is not going to leave me wanting to return...

I love that I can look around the store grab items and that with my permission the employee(s) also help grab some items for me to try as well. It definitely takes the pressure off having to look over everything. Every time I have wound up trying things I normally wouldnāt have picked for myself but end up loving.
I enjoy that they can help curate a looks and help style items. Bonus points they have also been super nice and accommodating to having children in tow, makes the bit of shopping was easier.
I will always come here to refresh my wardrobe over...
