CPR Cell Phone Repair Beckley — Attraction in Beckley

I don't usually leave reviews but this time I think its necessary. I am a programmer and a tech enthusiast so keep that in mind.

I took my phone to the CPR in Beckley WV where the two gentlemen helping me seemed slightly hostile and uninterested in helping. They took my phone and charged me 40$ to take a look at the damage. They refused to ship the phone if repairs would take longer than I would be in town for. The following day, they told me my phone was unfixable and seemed apathetic to helping. They kept just repeating to buy a new phone. In the interest of fairness though, one helpful thing they did was show me the price of a new phone of the same model. I requested a transcript of the issues to be sent to my e-mail and they promised they would but never did.

I took the phone to a local repair shop in VA and my experience was night and day. In VA, they offered to look at the phone for free, ordered the needed parts for testing for free, tested the various apps/calling capabilities and had it fixed with in a day of dropping it off. The VA shop was positive and showed a genuine interest in helping while communicating the risks and costs involved. The shop in Beckley charged me for nothing and wasted my time and money. Don't take your electronics to this facility! Waste of money and your time... Got told I need a new battery and screen after waiting a couple of days for a phone call to let me know the status of it, when told I would receive a call and never received a call, I had to call them. Then second time I called about a week later , still no call and they were very rude saying that they don't/ didn't have time to look at it bc of people calling them. Another 1/2 week went by , still no phone call so went and picked up laptop and was told that the screen was good and the battery was good, but the motherboard was fried!! They said that who ever put thermal paste on it put too much, and it over flowed all over the motherboard and fried it. When they handed me my laptop back there was thermal paste all over the outside of the laptop. I personally put the thermal paste on the last time it was done, so I know how much paste was on it and I know that it wasn't grey thermal paste, it was gold! Now I'm home about to go open it up and see what color thermal paste is on it now and what all is switched out or missing if any. Will let know the results. But so far very unsatisfied!!!!..... Great customer service. Repair person needs to be paid more money. Tim, Super guy. My family was visiting West Virginia and My granddaughter dropped ranch dressing into her phone charging port. The phone wouldn't charge. We found CPR on line and drove from Princeton to Beckley to meet with Tim. He went above and beyond to help us since we lived in Southern Georgia and needed the phone repais asap. He ordered the parts needed, repaired the phone. Unfortunately, we had to leave to return home and had to leave the phone for it to be completed. Tim understood how important my granddaughter's phone was to her and offered to UPS the phone to my residential address in St. Mary's Georgia. He kept his word, completed the repairs, and packaged the phone up and sent it UPS as he had promised. The phone arrived in perfect condition.
