Youth Museum of Southern WV — Attraction in Beckley

8-2-2021 - I'm giving this rating a one at this point just due to the fact that me and my boy made plans to be here for over a week and then come to find out there not open. According to their web page it states Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. closed on Sundays. So the whole day was ruined. Traveling a distance to be here and they're closed, very poor not updating or keeping their site updated. The lady said they haven't had those hours since before covid-19 which is going on...

Pretty much an oversized room with different little play areas. If you're just looking to get out of the house, play with some new toys or change of pace it's great! I wouldn't be surprised if most kids got bored with it after a few trips but it sounds like they switch it up seasonally so probably depends on the kid. We were visiting the area and went twice. The youth museum was an amazing experience for our 3yo. She had so much fun learning the letters and numbers on the interactive exhibit. The underground tour of the mine captivating and extremely informative. The tour guide Kenny was very nice and knowledgeable about coal history. 10/10 will do again, and I highly recommend for you...
