Wonderful doctor, enough to have kept me with Kaiser thus far, but Kaiser itself is not a good place to find quality care. They continue to add more and more limiting policies to their already overstuffed lists of what they deem “acceptable” care and what they can refuse to their members. If you are very healthy and simply need a basic plan as a back up, they would probably suffice. However, if you have even the slightest bit of a more complicated condition, you should look elsewhere. And if you have a high or chronic pain condition, don’t even attempt to have it addressed in any type of compassionate fashion. Aside from a sprinkling of providers throughout Kaiser who actually hold fast to their “First, do no harm” commitment, there is a far greater number of Gestapo-esque, boot-lickers, who happily take hold of Kaisers “First, make a profit” mentality. And sadly, they will not fight for the best care of patients, but rather acquiesce to Kaiser’s policies and attitudes, keep their heads down and collect their paychecks. Corporate medicine is not about helping people, but simply making money. Kaiser, while not alone, is a...
Read moreThe pharmacy department (specifically Belle) thinks that during business hours it is appropriate to chat with patients about their personal life and what’s new with the family while other patients wait 10-15 minutes just to be told they have to wait longer because they’re “still working on it” i.e. busy chatting about personal matters. The audacity to tell me thanks for waiting like I have a choice. Be professional, you’re an adult.
Update: They wanted me to fill a survey and then I never heard back. Since then the misinformation that I have received from those in the pharmacy regarding policy is alarming. It seems like the staff are confused on their own policies regarding medication or rather don’t want to be transparent about it. They will not be able to redirect you to any written or digital proof of policies and instead expect you to take their word so they can eventually gaslight you in the future. Depressingly incompetent company to work with. Kaiser is self-interested and will treat...
Read moreI really feel Kaiser Permanente is turning the corner in terms of service and care! I visited their Internal Medicine Department in Factoria and I have to admit I was impressed with the staff responsiveness. It started with the receptionist at the front door, who greeted and registered me, I didn’t even have to generate one of those silly tickets and wait! Also had to go to the lab and to the pharmacy, and although I had to generate tickets to wait, the wait time was less than five minutes at each department. My Internal Medicine doctor (Dr. Apodaca) was great, he listen to my cares and concerns and schedule me for additional visits. Dr. Apodaca’s medical assistant also did a great job. in addition to taking my vitals and checking me in, she even looked over my chart and recommended vaccines that were overdue. I’ve been with Kaiser Washington, a little over two years and this was the best experience I’ve had thus far, I hope...
