My mom took me here for lunch for my birthday a few weeks ago, and while the food was quite good, the service has left a sour taste in my mouth. We ordered two classic gyros and a salad. It was the middle of a pretty big rush and the music was loud, so I don't think the man behind the counter could hear us well, but rather than asking us to clarify, he just started slamming out dish after dish that we did not order. At first, he began scooping out rice, so we corrected him "No, sorry, two gyros and a salad" Then he started making a salad with gyro meat on it, "No, no, sorry. TWO gyros and one salad. Not a gyro salad." At this point he was visibly irritated with us... handed us off to some other guy. The guy who took over asked the man who was originally helping us what we wanted on stuff and he said something like "Oh just give them whatever!" and stormed off. Soooo yeah, the guy who took over didn't ask what we wanted on anything. No olives/dressing in the salad, only put one tiny slice of tomato on one of the gyros. Only made one of the gyros in front of us and then handed us off to the cashier. I was confused, as one of the gyros they sold to us was somehow already by the cashier? Didn't see anybody make it. I tried to ask the cashier what was in the box and he insisted it was a classic gyro, so we paid up and went outside to eat. Sure enough, it was NOT a classic gyro. Very spicy!! It tasted fine but was absolutely not what I ordered, and had it been somebody who is less tolerant to heat, they would have likely been very upset. By then, the last thing I wanted to deal with was taking it back in to be replaced, as the folks working there that day seemed to take great issue with being corrected. They made good food, but the service...
Read moreOkay, and about fulfills my expectations. I don't think I'd return, just because it wasn't anything spectacular. I can't say whether it meets traditional standards (I wouldn't know), but I know I've had Mediterranean a lot cleaner, fresher, and worth-the-price than here. I'll give it three stars because the food was okay (I ate it until I was full), the staff were friendly and fast, and the location is convenient.
My complaints are food centered. For example, one thing I for sure didn't like, is that their pita bread isn't homemade (they use store bought pita in bags). Also, I think they don't have a good balance of meat to veggies. Some might think it's okay to have a lot of meat, but I thought the meat was salty, so I really needed something to balance it. And by too little veggies, i mean they gave me some lettuce and one slice of cucumber and one slice of tomato.
Either way, I'd recommend it to people who need a fast, hot meal for their lunch breaks. Again, I don't...
Read moreThe food is good so I was excited to come here for lunch with my husband. I have a medical alert service dog and when I walked in I was greeted by a young man who said dogs are not allowed. I told him she is not a pet she is a service dog he responds “ok” and I thought we were done with the subject. We ordered our food, while standing waiting for him to prep it I smelled cigarette smoke coming from the back as if someone had a full ashtray nearby. Another guy came from the back and exchanged words with the young man in another language, they finished prepping our food and the young man said “mam next time the dog is not allowed my boss doesn’t like it”. I replied that it was illegal to deny her access as she is not a pet and he said I know but my boss doesn’t like dogs here. My service dog sat next to me the whole time, she did not distract anyone, give anyone attention or behave in any way that is the antithesis of expected service dog behavior. I will not be...
