A few months ago, we visited the Lightcatcher Building to see the temporary exhibition "Fluid Formations: The Legacy of Glass in the Pacific Northwest". Today we saw the exhibit "Un/Natural Selections". WOW. We were so impressed! Kudos to the curators for creating these impressive exhibits with truly high-caliber artworks. We're relatively new residents of Bellingham and we're so happy to have a nice museum space here. The Old City Hall building was interesting too, particularly the "bird room" on the 2nd floor. Really well laid out, with identification cards (rather than having the names right next to the birds) so you can quiz yourself as you learn the names of the birds you're viewing. There's a small free parking lot right next to the City Hall building; we parked there and walked to Lightcatcher first, then back to the City Hall building. There's also street parking, but not much was available nearby. We also were happy to see that the cafe Bar Cicotti (Tuesdays-Saturdays, 8 AM – 9 PM) inside the Lightcatcher building has some good vegetarian options on their modest menu. We joined the museum, of course!

A "can't miss" of your important time during your visit to Bellingham. Plan for a couple of hours here, especially as you work your way upstairs to the John M. Edson Hall of Bird's. If you're a fan of birding, then you're in for a treat! Fantastic up close experience of these magnificent creatures. And the variety of species in one location...wowzers! I highly recommend a visit here! Oh, your ticket will also get you entry into the Lightcatcher Building & Museum, just around the corner, as you also can walk to it. Now that's a bargain.

Amazing small town museum that rightfully highlights the rich history and background to Bellingham and Whatcom County. The exhibits were great, displaying a variety of modern art, native history, and a kind of bizarre (but very interesting) “hall of birds.” For bird people, this is a great opportunity to see PNW locals up close. Entry was a simple $10 and that ticket is also good at the Lightcatcher building (another museum) just 2 blocks away. This was a great way to support the local community and spend a couple hours.

This museum is fantastic! If you have not been to the Photo Archives which are open to anyone for research 1:00-5:00 Wednesday through Friday, you are missing out. The archivist there, Jeff, is a wealth of knowledge about Bellingham and the County, and can help you get answer to any regional, family, or municipal history question you can think of. Immensely interesting and fun.

A great place to come and check out the various different installations that come in and you can learn and view a lot about our Bellingham and Whatcom County areas history and unique things that make our city and county so amazing. The view of the building is very iconic in downtown Bellingham.
