Love: the Barista, the Sandwich Cook, the vibe, the dog friendly outdoor seating, the studious lawyer inside sipping espresso who said hi to Mandy on his way out and squatted from an enormous height to pet her. What's not love? The rain is coming... But there's some indoor seating and a bike shop next door all of a piece! Delicious pesto cheese sandwich which would have had turkey but I'm vegetarian, so I had the turkey on the side for Miss Mandy Panda.

This place. They have amazing coffee & a great outdoor seating area-- also, they fix bikes! This was the perfect place to start my morning the other day before work. But I look forward to cycling down and stopping in with my sweetheart as part of a downtown date, or maybe as a first stop on a ride out to Lummi Island or Hovander Park, very cool!

Cafe Velo may not be the most popular cafe in the Bellingham area, but they certainly have some of the best tasting coffee I've ever had. Their Americanos are the best I've ever had and they're staff is more than welcoming. If you're looking for a low-key spot to get a cup of coffee stop by Cafe Velo, i can't recommend them enough.

i never write reviews but i gotta log on here to celebrate my main man andrew, the bike guy at cafe velo. for some reason we bought this stupid dutch cargo bike on craigslist with no real plan for how we would maintain it, and when it started to break down we had trouble finding someone in town who could actually work on it. fortunately we were directed to cafe velo and andrew, who seems to know as much about bikes as anyone could. he gave it a first-rate tuneup and and been kind enough to let me drop by on a couple different occasions to show me how to better tweak the bike to my liking. a very kind and knowledgable man. i can't recommend cafe velo enough for all of your bike...

Mellow atmosphere. Good coffee with some tasty, unusual alternatives such as tumeric lattes. Large, fresh, flavorful salads. Sandwiches are fresh and tasty with one plant-based option. Unfortunately, no vegan cookies or treats and no plans to add any. The owners are just lovely people and friendly as well as interesting and fun to chat with. The courtyard is a lovely area to have lunch or espresso and a great place to meet people when it's not raining. Velo is part bike shop, so the larger room is shared with bikes in the process of being repaired. There's a TV in the bike repair room that often has sports on, but...

Went there for the first time today and got an Americano and a cookie. My daughter and her boyfriend sat with me and ate burritos they got from across the street. I didn't think it would be an issue because there were a bunch of empty tables around us, but one of the owners unkindly asked us to leave without apology, just pointing to the sign we hadn't seen. I understand that they probably get a lot of people sitting there with outside food, but it wouldn't take much for him to explain the situation in a kinder more respectful way. Best of luck to them but after this experience I won't...
