The staff is nice but the service is extremely slow and then food barely passes on edible. This review isn't written after one visit either. I've sadly come back multiple times to the same nonsense. The last visit i asked to speak to a manager and told my message would be relayed. I'm just frustrated we even paid for that meal. I've given this restaurant so many chances and every single time the food is cold, needs salt, potatoes burnt to smithereens... I thought maybe because we hit it during a weekend busy time? No. Today proves anytime it's always a miss. The baked goods are yummy but just not worth it. Pick up a cinnamon roll and leave. Either more staff needs to be hired to accommodate a shift so people aren't left waiting 30 minutes just to place an order, or something else needs to be revaluated. My grandmother's sandwich crust was hard as a rock. My mother wasn't even asked if she wanted focaccia or waffle on her eggs Benedict, she was just brought waffle. The arugula under her egg... You guys. It was brown and dehydrated to an actual crisp. 🄱😱 The chefs really need to evaluate what makes it onto the plate to get served to customers. Black potatoes, stale potatoes, hard bread, brown arugula, etc is not ok. My advice? Go elsewhere for food all together. Just not worth it. Maybe once upon they were good, but that time has come and gone.

Great reviews attracted us to visit this bakery cafe for brunch. Waiting for a table took a bit long even though there were clean tables that were ready. Strange. Probably the servers were too busy and didn't have a chance to set up a table for us?? We ordered their original egg benedit and crepe with fresh fruit. The egg benedit was the best one among all the benedits that I tried. The cafe used waffle instead of English muffins for the egg brnedit, which was a great idea. Their waffle was thick and fluffy that went well with ham, eggs and hollandaise sauce. However, I personally felt that the crepe was not as great as the egg benedit. The crepe was stuffed with fresh fruits. The fresh fruits tasted great but I could not taste the crepe. It was just a piece of dry flour to me unfortunately. One major thing that I disliked the most was that there were so many small bugs or flies that were flying around me and the food! One also landed on my waffle. That was disgusting! I was eating while I was using hands to prevent the flies to attack my food. Geez.... I could not eat the brunch comfortably. We saw the breakfast at other tables looked great but we still thought this cafe was over rated because we had tried and seen other restaurants that had better breakfast and brunch. Maybe this one is the best in this neighbourhood.

Absolutely must try. I was expecting Mount Bakery to be a nice small town breakfast experience. I was not expecting the level of attention given to literally every detail on my plate. My eyes were drawn to the bright colors used on the plates and then the beautiful layout of these delicious Benedict’s. The breakfast potatoes were just perfect, a little crispy on the outside with a perfect earthy potato aroma.. delicious! It’s hard to say these Benedict’s (mushroom Benedict and smoked salmon Benedict) weren’t some of the best I’ve had… because they were! I absolutely LOVE the hollandaise served with these dishes. Just the right amount of citrus … clearly made in-house, which is rare! The attention to customers is really great, the people helping you were really in to making sure patrons were enjoying their experience. This is not ā€œjust another breakfast/brunch placeā€. Mount Bakery Cafe is at the top of their game. The Typical Tourist will absolutely remember their experience and the semi local is missing out if this hasn’t been checked off must try places.

Excellent Cafe and when you go to this tasty cafe you should know the good and bad news about the experience. They have lots of baked goods but THE STANDOUT QUALITY of Mt Bakery is the above and beyond requirement that diners must have received a covid19 jab. I felt a release of anxiety when sitting amongst the cleansed of Bellingham. Having an establishment full of Pfizer or Moderna (sorry if you got the J&J jab) pharmaceutical corporation loving individuals made the experience fairly comfortable.

But Mt Bakey's Covid19 compliance doesn't go far enough. There are many more steps that this establishment could take to get a full FIVE stars from this discerning customer. One added star if they wisely decided to block the unfortunate souls who chose the J&J single shot, unless they've received a booster. And it should be a recent booster from the always trustworthy Pfizer or the consistently drug approving Moderna. I would add another star if they had a way for incoming customers to announce their vaccine status. Having a server announce the customers vaccine status to everyone would definitely make the whole dining room a much safer space. Without knowing peoples booster status I think it only makes sense to ask customers to wear two masks and only remove the masks for bites and quick drinks. I saw people lazily taking their time eating their danishes and masklessly savoring their coffee. One more star for better mask enforcement.

Finally I would add a star if Mt Bakery hired medical professionals to administer vaccine boosters after seating customers as the dining area is cramped with less than 6 feet in between some chairs. Knowing incoming customers have just received the latest boosters right there on the spot would certainly enhance the experience even more. Hopefully Mt Bakery can make this happen....

Disgusting. How about a "I'm sorry there's a human hair in your food?" Our server was unfriendly to begin with but I almost expect that now. My original benny had a human hair with the eggs and hollandaise sauce. I sent it all back with the hair clearly visible - the other server that picked up my plate was nicer, she asked if she could get me something else - obviously, I said no. When I went to pay, our original server again not saying a word showed me the screen to pay, I asked if that included the Benny and she simply said "I took half off." I told her I sent it all back and she didn't say a word turned the screen back towards her and continued to press away. I told her "I get it happens..." thinking she'd at least try to explain or tell me she talked to the kitchen not even expecting an apology which really should be a given. She said "what?" and when I repeated myself, she said "yeah." I didn't want to ruin my mood further so tuned away but really left feeling like I wasted my time and my money to have my appetite and mood be ruined. I talked to another server as I exited and asked if the owner or a manager was available. She said no owner, no manager. She did apologize once I told her what happened. We ate outside so I thought ok it's dirty but it's dirtier inside. No wonder there was no line on a Saturday. Would never return and highly discourage anyone from eating here. Portions are small and overpriced, food mediocre at best, coffee watered down. Yes - never once asked if we wanted a refill on coffee or if our meal was ok. Service is just non existent. Should've read the other reviews first...

This place truly lives up to the hype. I was meeting my very pregnant cousin here for an early lunch or late breakfast. I arrived about 45 minutes early because I am a crazy person, but the wonderful staff had no problem with me sitting at a table and waiting for her. They kept my coffee filled and didn't mind that I watched Netflix (with earbuds, I'm not a barbarian) while I waited. When she arrived, she ordered an apple crepe (a special of the day) and I got one of their famous eggs Benedict -- the Blackstone one with bacon. I was a bit nervous because the eggs come on a waffle, and I'm not a fan of sweet and savory being combined, but the waffle was not sweet and the whole dish was absolutely amazingggg. I also got one of their famous cinnamon rolls to-go to eat the next day, and let me tell you!!! I heated that bad boy up the next morning in my hotel microwave and that sucker was the BEST cinnamon bun I have ever had in my life!!!!! And I'm a fatty when it comes to pastries so I've had a lot of experience in this bun department. I am not ashamed to say (well I'm a little ashamed) that I made an absolute mess eating that in my car on my way to work. If you get this cinnamon bun, for the love of god eat it over a plate or stable surface (you know, like a normal civilized human being) because I made an absolute mess. Icing dripped (despite it looking so stable) all over my yoga pants and it was truly a horror movie scene in my car by the time I was done, but it was the BEST pastry I've had in my entire life....
