Bennington Welcome Center — Attraction in Bennington

Wonderful visitor center. And they allow rv overnight parking for one night as long as you are self contained and not abusive of their allowing you to park. This is a great jumping off spot into vt.

Updated 6/19/24. Still a wonderful clean stop. I have not been here in quite a while. Since my last visit there are now signs plastered everywhere that say no overnight camping. I’m not really sure what that would mean? If a person is traveling with their camper on tow and resting for the quietly for night quietly out of the way in the parking lot with nothing more than rubber on the pavement I don’t really see how that is camping. I don’t need to stay here tonight. Just stopped for a couple hours to cool down from the summer heat and eat lunch. Hopefully if a person is resting for a long day drive that is still allowed. Otherwise would be very unsafe to force a driver back on the road...

We just stopped here to stretch our legs on the way home to NH from NC. We met the most wonderful woman I wish I had her name- she works at the welcome center and was wearing a beautiful sunflower pin so I hope she sees this! We were walking our pup Merle in the back grassy area and she welcomed us all inside with a big smile. She got Merle some doggy treats and fresh water and then shared a wealth of information about the area. What a great surprise to learn of all that is nearby and we will be planning a return trip to tour the area thanks to her! She is a gem to have working here, I recommend you stop in and meet her! This is a great place to come if you need to use the bathroom, find out information about the local area, or even access a pay phone. The building is extremely clean and well maintained.

During COVID, the building is setup in such a way to direct people directly to the bathrooms, but there is still staff present for any questions you might have. When the building is closed, there are still portapotties outside for public use.

I spoke to the staff about something I was trying to find in the area, and they were extremely nice, and very helpful. I'm glad that I went there, and I look forward to going back, when their display cases are filled with local artwork, after the COVID...
