Reposting under my personal email and with the note that CBW has done nothing to make this right. After looking at other recent 1-star reviews, it appears they have no plans to and are leaving all of us with sick dogs high and dry and footing the bill for their lack of communication and recklessness.
My experience with daycare through CBW was extremely disappointing and Iâll do my best to detail what happened:
Scheduling the interview. I called 3 weeks prior to us moving to Bentonville to schedule an interview. After being told the office was closed on Monday, May 29th I requested an 8 or 8:30am interview on May 30th. I was informed that time wasnât available and that they would have to do later in the morning. I explained this wouldnât work because my fiancĂ© had to be at work by 8:30am and that I wouldnât be in the state by that day. I was then told to schedule an evaluation with CBW in my current hometown. I attempted to do so, but was informed that my dogs would need additional vaccinations not required in the state of AR. The timing of scheduling a vet appointment to schedule an interview before we left town wasnât feasible. When I called CBW of Bentonville back they were suddenly able to fit us in at 7:30am! Annoying, and a waste of my time, but overall not upset at this point - especially considering the front desk told me theyâd be willing to keep my dogs on a crate schedule.
Picking the dogs up after the interview. My fiancĂ© told the front desk he would like to schedule daycare for the next 2-3 days. He was met with, âWell do you have the app? Just do it on the app.â We didnât have the app at that point, and my fiancĂ© was bothered that the front desk wasnât willing to book those days while he was right there in the facility. Once again, annoying, not impressed, but still not mad.
Being informed about the outbreak of influenza and kennel cough. This is what really takes the cake for me. I contacted CBW 3 WEEKS in advance to schedule this stay. I had multiple phone calls with them. Not ONCE was I ever informed of the kennel cough. I even asked about the influenza shot because itâs required in my hometown CBW, and they informed me that it wasnât required but made no mention of the outbreak. In fact, we were not informed of the outbreak until their first day of care on May 30th. At which point, we didnât have any other options. After this, email communication went out acknowledging the outbreak that had been happening for weeks.
When my fiancĂ© went to pick up the dogs on the last day of daycare, he was brought the wrong dog. The color was right, but the breed, size, haircut, etc was wrong. This makes me wonder if it was even MY dog that got put on a crate schedule or if it was someone elseâs dog.
Now, my Giant Schnoodle who has a trial in 6 weeks is sick with kennel cough. We are unable to train or work with her for the next 10-14 days. So now weâve paid for 4 days of boarding, a vet visit, medications, and a trial in Utah we most likely wonât be able to attend due to training setbacks.
The practices appear reckless in regard to dog health and wellness. And the communication is the worst Iâve experienced with any business in the...
Read moreCamp Bow Bow for Peaches & Twinkle! We board our dogs when travel requires us to be away overnight. Having the option of sharing a room helps keep our fur babies together and comfortable, especially since both my dogs are a bit on the anxious spectrum. One (Peaches) is an introvert and hesitant around dogs and humans, while the other (Twinkle) is a human-attention hog. I appreciate how the staff at Camp Bow Wow gets to know each pet and their personalities, likes, dislikes, etc.
They are strict with vaccinations - which is a GREAT thing! I recall reading a review complaining about it. Last year, the canine flu epidemic resulted in pneumonia in one of my dogs and a $2k+ vet bill. So, yes I am thrilled CBB is so diligent about shots! It keeps ALL pets safe and healthy.
Brandy the manager is a gem. She genuinely loves all the dogs who camp there. Dog lovers know that our babies can tell us if they don't like a place or person by their behavior. Peaches & Twinkle are as happy to walk into Camp Bow Wow as they are to come home! Great sign when our pups are excited about a particular environment. Having live streaming access, as well as calls from the staff just to keep us informed are all very reassuring practices standard to CBB.
The staff are trained to be as helpful and as accommodating as possible. During one overnight trip for sport competition, we realized we would not be finished nor make the 3 hour drive back in time to pick up the fur-babies. I called as I was frantic. CBB worked with us - told us to concentrate on winning and driving back safely, because Peaches & Twinkle were in good hands.
Recently we used them for daycare as we were having a garage sale. They came back both days exhausted from the Cinco de Mayo celebration! I have to frame the pics!
No place is perfect, and there have been a few OOPS! But what makes this place 5 stars is how they handle mistakes. With compassion and with reason.

Read moreI wanted to reach out and give a good review given recent events.
As long as my mom's dog has been attending camp there have been nothing but positive experiences! With the recent outbreak of canine cough and influenza a few of the people I work with also had to pick up their puppers from other camps, and I being the emergency contact for my mom's dog, was promptly notified of the issue. I was also informed to keep an eye out for symptoms. I was not the only one and much like many others who have taken dogs to camp or kids to day care should understand the risk of these types of social interaction, sometimes someone gets sick, sometimes that spreads. What astounds me is the amount of complaints from people that complain about an establishment that has been treating their dogs and watching over them (some for multiple years) do a 180 because their dog was taken to a camp and got sick. Who is to say they didn't get sick at a dog park, or at a visiting family members house.
All this to say, sometimes things happen. I witnessed employees cleaning play areas and limiting contact where possible, but when a dog is taken to a camp where they run, chase, and play with each other there will be times when things spread.
Will my mom's dog continue to go to camp once she is feeling better and no longer contagious, likely as she loves visiting not just the other dogs but the employees as well, will I continue to be an emergency contact that understands sometimes life happens. Absolutely!
Also, Sadie is on the mend and anxious every Monday and Wednesday when my mom leaves for work waiting for me to pick her up and take her, less and less happy when she realizes I am just there for the next...
