It has been 6 months since the death of my mother and I just wanted to once again share my thoughts about Billings Clinic care, and Ethics practiced at this facility. First I would like to say, I am a 34 year paramedic/nurse with extensive critical care, ED and Flight experience. My mother was admitted to this facility following a hypoxic even (very low oxygen) and her care after entering was shameful, and yet fully supported by administration, physicians and nursing administration. Due to her confusion, related to the hypoxia, we made the decision as a family to put into place a Power of Attorney for medical decisions. That included my brother, myself and, my father. AGAINST our wishes the cardiologist proceeded to perform multiple procedures on my mother, including a heart cath. We specifically declined this cath as she had compromised kidney function and we were concerned the dye used would cause further damage. Post cath, her kidney did continue to fail, Nephrology was consulted. She was sent to rehab where she fell 2x due to her inablility to ambulate and was then sent home where she died 4 days later as her lungs filled with fluid, essentially drowning her in her own fluids. NOW, don't get me wrong, my mother was 86, and the lack of oxygen did hurt her heart function, but Billings Clinic AND Dr. Rodriguez. as well as Dr. Furmen were all well aware of our wishes to not perform a heart cath or put her through any other stressful procedures. Which they ignored, they also ignored LEGAL paperwork. In addition the Hospital AND Dr. Rodriguez profited on my mothers death by performing these "procedure" even though they were declined. This review is just a reminder! BUYER BEWARE. I have been in this vocation for half of my life and I have NEVER witnessed such unethical practice, or such BLATANT DISREGARD of family wishes for their loved ones. This went so far as "Dr. Rod" grooming my confused mother in the room to agree with him in saying she agreed to the procedures when none of us were there (She had no recollection of what he had done to her). So PLEASE PLEASE be diligent with your family. PLEASE PLEASE stay with them as you cannot leave trusting that $$$ won't override good care and common sense at...
Read moreThe day I went the emergency room the doctor and nurses were some of the rudest uncaring people I have ever met...I had been in a very severe vehicle accident the night before and the doctor JEDEDIAH WALKER maybe looked and listened to me for a entire 20 seconds it was very obvious by his actions and treatment of me that he did not care about my health or well-being...I heard the doctor go in other rooms with other patients and spend significantly more time with them..by far the worst treatment i have ever received they did absolutely nothing for my pain or other concerns i left there still in significant pain do not go here!!! Also Dr.JEDEDIAH WALKER was in the hallway within earshot of me and the nurses station and other patients on his cell phone outside a patients room who was 14 years of age saying the child was very suicidal and saying alot if other stuff about this minor kid...[I am purposely leaving the minor childs name out of my post out of respect for him and his family unlike the doctor...] felt that was very unprofessional of the doctor and I am sure the parents and the minor child himself would be upset that the doctor was freely discussing his condition with anyone to hear when it definitely should have been a private matter... my care and treatment and the attitudes of the nurses and doctors drastically changed when they asked and I informed them I did not have a covid vaccination they asked if I wanted one I said absolutely NOT... There so many things that happened and that I witnessed that were completely unprofessional and uncalled for my advice is to go to another hospital if you need emergency care...and if you see doctor JEDEDIAH WALKER walk in you might as well just walk out because he obviously does not do his job and is obviously only there for a...
Read moreI woke up July 4th with severe pain to my right side abdomain. Stuck it out for a day then made a online appt to go in on the 5th and get checked out at same day / urgent care. From the moment I parked the car I was met with urgency, care and respect every step of the way. The staff was friendly and helpful, the doctor was knowledgeable, thorough and took time to make sure understood what was happening and what was going to happen. It was recommended to undergo a CT scan to get the real story of what's going on and to create a baseline for future issues but she told me most likely what was happening and not to be scared or worried. Went back the next day for the scan and again was met with the same urgency, kindness and care. Different people and different departments. After a couple hours I noticed a missed call then another call from the same number a minute later, it was the doctor who treated me at walk in care. She was letting me know the results and advised me how to move forward. I thanked her and remembered her telling me it was her day off today. She said she would call and she did and that means a lot. I was grateful I was not forgot about just because someone had a day off. Thank you Billings Clinic, you made a painful experience less painful. Keep it up, you are all doing...
