Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Billings

We came for dinner. It was almost 7. The restaurant was not even close to what could be described as half full. Empty, dirty tables everywhere. The rush had just ended. The hostess did not clean the table fully, there was still visible food residue on there. Whatever, I just scooted farther down the seat where it was clean. We got our drinks straight away. Our server had a great sense of humor that I appreciated, however, we saw hide nor hair of her after she dropped off our straws. We weren’t in a hurry, by any means, but when one woman asked if she could at least get their kids some food because they were starving while they were waiting. The kids were by no means rowdy. I didn’t realize they were there. My friend noticed. I asked her how long we have been waiting because it seemed excessive. My friend checked her watch. Just a pinch over an hour since we had placed our orders. My friend asked another server for our server and asked about our order. Server was professional and sympathetic and we chose to leave. She did not charge us for our drinks. I appreciated that. After we told her we were leaving we heard her tell the cooks to not bother starting the order for our table cuz the people (us) left. They hadn’t even started our order- pancakes and a burger. It had already been an hour! How much longer would we have sat there without communication from our server had we waited? It’s almost 9 and I fully believe we may just have been about to get it plated, two hours down. The restaurant only had a handful of people. I understand online orders are a pain and also take up time, but communication of the real issue would’ve been nice. We don’t want free food, we just wanted our order. Do you need to hire cooks? I know a guy…if it would let me upload a pic, you could see the clean empty tables, as far as the eye can see. We are longtime Perkins customers and tonight was the absolute worst service After we were seated and wait staff was told 2 at the table, at least 15 minutes went by before our server appeared from the back. No greeting, just what are you drinking? We stated we were also ready to order, "what are you eating?" Server clearly had a hard time getting our order down had to repeat everything multiple times, type of dressing, how we wanted our food cooked, etc. After approx another 15 minutes we received our drinks. A half hour after ordering we finally received our salads with mumbled apology, sorry for the wait. Now mind you our server had exactly 1 other table at the time, which the customer already had their food, other servers and the busboy were attending to that Customers needs, drink refills, etc. This entire time the wait staff and kitchen staff were too busy in the back gossiping, complaining etc, which customers could hear the entire time. I overheard 1 wait staff member say, let them wait after being told customers were at 1 of their tables It is not like He will be a big spender. How disappointing for a local Restaurant to allow staff to react to any Cutomer this way. Our food finally arrives, my order is wrong, a different server returned it to the kitchen for correction, while waiting on my food our server walks over and delivers the check....Wow a customer cannot even eat or receive the correct order before the check is put in front of them. Needless to say, we had to ask for the remaining items we had ordered. Upon checking out we were asked how everything was, which by the way they really don't want to know. It is just something they feel obligated to ask. Hopefully someone in Management will see this and Maybe care about the Service at this particular Perkins on a...

When we walked into the downtown Perkins, we asked for a booth and then proceeded to be sat in a section where all of the other tables (and ours aswell) were obviously dirty. It then took our server atleast 10 minutes to notice that we were sitting down. We then ordered our drinks, and when we were given our silverware it was dirty and we had to clean them ourselves. It then took us 20 minutes to wait for our food and an extra 10 while it was sitting under the warmer. After we ordered our food we had noticed that it was obviously instant mashed potatoes that we were given. They were smothered in garlic and had a bread like consistency where we had to cut the mashed potatoes apart. My burger was so overcooked that the meat inside had turned grey and my jaw had start to hurt from how much I had to chew it. My partners dinner was also horrible. The shrimp had no flavor and were very flat, while the asparagus tasted as if they pulled it straight from the bag and did not season them at all. No butter nor salt and pepper. Not only that but there were fish reminants on the asparagus meaning that they were cooked in the same pan as a peice of salmon. The service was horrible and our server was horrible to us too. She had very little to say to us, only responded with "okay", and only checked on us once and when my partners water was empty and obviously empty the server never bothered to ask or fill it up. As we were done with our food I had noticed that under the table was so dirty that there was pie caked onto the bottom of our shoes. Would not recommend, -10/10. Complete...
