Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex — Attraction in Birmingham

The show was amazing. The singers/actors were so talented. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The attendee whom offered us a program was very nice and professional. We had a hike from where we parked and our seats were right where she told us they were, and we made it before the doors closed. I was very thankful that there was a restroom on every level for easy access. I loved that the concessions were right outside our entrance also, with several choices.

My ONLY complaint is parking via Ticketmaster with ParkWhiz...when I purchased tickets in September 2024 for this March 2025 show, the parking was offered for $30 as a service and it was the only option. I thought, if Ticketmaster is offering it, then it must be a good deal and pretty close. It was .8 miles from the BJCC. We passed several parking decks on our hike. I didn't understand why that was offered via Ticketmaster as an option. My mother and mother in law went, and are both over 70 and in good shape, but it was a hike even for them. I hope the parking isn't offered, or they will find better parking options, or just don't offer parking as a service at all. The parking deck address was 2119 6th Ave. N., Birmingham, AL 35203.

Went to see the Fluffy comedy show. Was a good show but the event parking outside refused to allow Handicap to park in the handicap stalls stated those are all reserved for people who pay 30.00 in advance instead of 20.00 coming in to park. We showed my placard but it did not matter the attendant said. I had to be on my feet a lot and while I knew I would hurt badly, so that did not help. No amount of reasoning with the parking attendant would change things. I do not know if the BJCC is afiliated with event parking but that seemed to be where people were going to park and walk over to the show. The show was great, we got stopped at the door do to a hand bag with a med kit in it that my partner had for me, but when we said that they waved us threw. Over all it was a good place and good staff. I as I said do not know if event parking is a proper BJCC affiliate but it did sour part of my experience. Otherwise it was a good show. Beautiful venue! My husband and I enjoyed the Ali Saddiq comedy show and the process for entrance and security was pretty easy. Only thing we didn't understand is why the participants were not allowed access to their mobile devices prior to the show starting and immediately after the show ended. Everyone was speaking about not being able to take pre show photos and videos and post show photos and videos after the act left the stage. Even for meet and greet we waited additional time to have access to our devices and they unlocked the pouches just before we walked up to do the meet and greet so we could use our devices to take the photos. This could be improved for future events as I was on call and wasn't able to walk out and accept or return any calls which was a negative for me personally being that I was out of town and state for the event. I didn't have any food or drinks but I saw that it was mostly theater food items and decided to wait to have dinner...
