La Belle Vie Salon & Spa — Attraction in Bloomfield

I am extremely unhappy with this establishment. If you don't know, up until a few months ago this was 'Serenity Salon and Spa'. I have been a loyal customer to serenity for years and my husband and i have purchased several spa packages from them. Last year my husband purchased a spa package for me for Christmas and i still had several treatments left in my package that were paid for. Last month i called to make an appointment and i was suddenly informed that Serenity had gone out of business and was under new ownership. The new owner had informed me that all previously purchased packages were basically going to be lost. I understandibly gave her a hard time on the phone since we never received any notification of this new ownership, and this is hundreds of dollars lost. Then she told me she would honor only "a couple treatments ".."out of the kindness of her heart". However she continues to tell me that "this wasn't her fault" and "i should have booked my sessions sooner". Well I'm sorry i would have done that if i had known Serenity was going out of business. And, who are you to tell me that i should have used my package sooner. Isn't it my business and perogative to use my spa package in my own time?? Anyway, i did speak to an older employee who is amazing and she let me come in to use two treatments under my old package. However i called today to try and use another one and i was told a "no, absolutely not". This is an unbelievable crime to your customers. I understand that Serenity is certainly to blame for not contacting there customers and making them aware of this, however, if you are a new business owner who is abruptly taking over a new business with a previous clientele you should honor there packages and eat the cost. La Belle Vie was previously located in Montclair at Watchung Plaza and though it was conveniently located near my bank and dry cleaner, parking was sometimes tricky so I’m grateful for the new Bloomfield location where they have a dedicated parking lot, which is rare for our area. The new space is modern, open and clean with a lot of natural light. They also have a full service spa on the second floor with massages, facials and more. There’s even a steam shower and large changing rooms. Roman is a senior stylist that does my cut color and he’s great. If you want natural looking blonde highlights, I recommend him highly. Their prices are very reasonable and getting an appointment that’s convenient isn’t that difficult. They are open on Sundays, which is great if you have an even on that day as some weddings and other functions fall then. Overall, it’s really pleasant experience there with pleasant, courteous staff. Add +++ to the five stars!! I have been a costomer at La Belle Vie Salon and Spa for eleven years. Nonna is my esthetician and keeps my skin supple and young. I get peels, microdermabrasions and facials. I purchase creams for my face and eyes that she recommends. Her hands and skills are magic!!. The Spa facilities are excellent with all the things one needs to completely enjoy the experience. Roman takes care of my hair. I have long blonde hair with highlights; and receive a keratin treatments throughout the year. I have to say that people stop me in the street to complement about my hair--the color and style. My husband loves my hair and the way my skin glows all the time. I highly recommend La Belle Vie Salon and Spa for experiencing a mini vacation each time...
