We love it here. The park now has another area sith a swing set, zip line and a jungle gym. There's also a pond area, where the children can hop on the rocks and walk through. This side is extremely secluded and quiet. There are no restrooms on this side, but there is a water fountain. The kids get extremely dirty over here and they also have a dirt pit which includes sit on mock machinery (not sure what its called) for digging. This area of the park is LOADED with dirt; which the kids enjoy 🤦🏾♀️😂
Looking fwd. to all the changes w/ the addition of the upcoming Apt. Complex. The main area of the park is fantastic for gatherings and photographs; especially in the evening. They have several different outdoor furniture pieces throughout the dining area which different parties could sit and talk for hours.
The main play area is great! The kids enjoy coming every chance they get. Everyone loves the 4 seater "see-saw" it could use a little WD-40 😂😂😂 that squeaking starts to get to you after a short while.
This past visit was out first time exploring the famous tower and riding the elevator. The kids were a tad bit afraid and EXCITED! It was like a mini thrill ride. The tiling is severely loose at the top and there was an area that was taped off (yikes) 😬 It was definitely a bit frightening for those afraid of heights to get to the top and notice all that. Otherwise, the breeze and view was magnificent. The sun was beginning to set and it looked like we were only miles away from it. It was so beautiful gazing out and appreciating God's glorious work!

Since this used to be a small airfield, there is still a tower that you can take the stairs or elevator up and look out. There is a large, flat, open field that is well maintained, where you can throw the frisbee/aerobie, play field games, or just lounge in. 4 large swings sit under 2 large pergolas, where you can relax and take in the surroundings. It's first come first serve, so don't expect to get in whenever.
The modern side of it is the gigantic open layout that is paved, with several restaurants (delicious, but higher end), an open place to sit, and some scenic modern architecture to enjoy.
Whether you are looking for some alone time, on a date, or with family, this park has so much to offer, and is worth the visit. Occasionally they will also have concerts or festivals to enjoy as well, in addition to outdoor yoga.
There is a lot of walking area, but not much shade, so on a real hot day, this isn't an ideal place. Even on a decent day, your best bet is to bring a beach/sport umbrella and create your own shade. In about 30 years, the trees will fill in and you'll have plenty, but for now, you have to make it yourself.
Again, highly recommend it, this is a...
Read moreThis was a great escape as I was in town for a long week of work. The facility has wide open spaces to walk and have fun with your family and friends. You can walk a concrete path or play in the open grassy area. There is even a children's playground where you can let kids let off even more energy.
Pop music plays over speakers placed along walk paths and large poles have lighting once the sun goes down. The glass canopy allows open areas seating without the elements (sun or rain). Comfy outdoor couches were grouped in various clusters for seating.
There is an observation tower you can go up but I didn't have time to check it out. Looked amazing. There are a few restaurants there as well which I tried: Brown Dog Cafe and Tahona Kitchen & Bar.
Tahona had delicious tacos and Brown Dog had fresh homemade fired pizzas. I would recommend you try them both if you have time. Brown Dog also offers many local brewing companies draft beer as well.
I wish I had more time to just hang out and enjoy the location. I will definitely come back with the family on another trip.
Parking was a little tight in the evenings but you can find a spot if you drive a little further out or just wait a minute for...
