Upon my arrival I feel as though I've made a wrong turn, perhaps into an industrial park. There isn't much around besides industrial use buildings, surrounding the hotel, which are not quiet during night hours. The parking lot is sparsely populated, and stays that way the duration of the stay. ||During check-in the staff seem genuinely disinterested. I completed online check-in, and this seems to make the desk clerk seem even less concerned with my existence.||The room is clean, but outdated. The dresser drawers might close all the way, might not. One of our lamps is missing a bulb; the room would remain dimly lit even if it weren't. The clock in the room is off by close to 30 minutes. The TV is outdated, small, and barely responsive to the remote. ||The bathroom is clean, but there is an absence of any bars of soap, in fact you're expected to wash your hands with body wash.||The beds are comfortable, but the frame they rest on sticks out so much that every single family member stubbed their toes multiple times. The pillows are small, and seemed to be twin size pillows if not smaller. My couch pillows at home are bigger and more comfortable. The bed also doesn't quite fit properly on the frame, so there's a large gap behind the pillows that they like to fall down into.||There is no room cleaning on Sundays, which is fine, as that is the day of arrival. However, Monday the room is also not cleaned. We did get new towels, which means someone did come into the room, however they left all the trash unemptied, beds unmade, etc. Tuesday the room was cleaned, but the pizza boxes from Sunday were still left untouched, and remained there Wednesday when we departed.||The stay was fine, it was a clean place to sleep and really that's all a hotel is for. It wasn't "poor" by any means, but it is definitely below average and I've stayed in much nicer hotels, in much nicer areas, for the same amount of money if not a little less or more. We chose the hotel because it was central to our needs, but would probably look elsewhere for future visits...
Read moreWe were told prior to arrival that there was a pool. After checking in, we found out you had to sign up to swim in 1 hour increments, and you were only able to swim if there was availability. Only 8 individuals at a time let in the pool area. A child fell through the pool filter cover, hurting her leg while swimming. The front desk clerk kept coming in the pool area watching the kids swim. As a parent of young girls, this was very inappropriate and made everyone feel uncomfortable. We ended up just going back up to our room. In the morning, the continental breakfast was a brown paper bag with a muffin and juice. Since we had 4 children under the age of 10 with us, we asked if we could bring them down to the dining area to eat, they instructed us that we needed to stay in our room, even though no one was in the dining area? After leaving the hotel, I found out that they had charged my card an additional $100 for “damaged linen”. After calling the hotel 4x, I was able to speak to the manager, she informed me there was food on the bed and juice had been spilled. She did not seem concerned or bothered by the grown man watching our little girls swim. I’m not really sure what they expected with 4 kids eating in the room? I have never had issues like this at any hotel I have ever stayed at. Not only would I not return, but I would never recommend this...
Read moreI would say that the rooms had a nice clean modern feel. The water pressure was not the best, and the drain did not drain properly when I was taking a shower. The bathroom floor was painted over and seemed a tad odd because it was rather ugly, lol. They have probably some of the comfiest beds for a hotel room. And the TV is quite large. Hotel sits across from an old airport that they have now made into a park, and there is a very nice apartment community across the street. The parking lot is rather dated. The first day I was there, I was rather upset that I came down 15 minutes before the meal ended and the majority of things were already put up. But I later found out that the usual person was not there on Mondays, and the next day when she was, everything was great (although I'm not a fan of hotel-style eggs and sausage). I don't really have a lot of negative things to say about this hotel. It is just not as nice as "warm and cozy" feeling as some of the others. Definitely felt more like a "stay the night and go" kind of place. Highway is only a couple of minutes down the road, and Kenwood Towne Center (which is a very nice upscale shopping area) is only about a 6 minute drive. Downtown is about 15-20 minutes, maybe...
