In my inaugural experience at Roadrunner, I was pleasantly surprised by the venueâs overall enjoyment. The venueâs size exceeded expectations, and its capacity was significantly higher than anticipated. It is important to note that if a show is sold out, it is likely oversold. If the show was not sold out, the experience would have been considerably more enjoyable.
Security was efficient and did not require pat-downs or wand checks before entry (which is advantageous in terms of time, but not necessarily the most secure method). However, we did not mind this aspect. It is worth mentioning that we did not arrive and proceed through security until approximately 10:45-11:00 pm, which may have contributed to the ease of the process.
The highlight of the evening was the exceptional sound quality. The sound system was impeccable, and the technicality across the board was remarkable. The sound quality and placement was the chefs kiss đ€đ» of the evening. While I suggest incorporating more stage lighting and LED screen elements throughout the venue, similar to what was done at Royale, the overall experience was highly enjoyable. The sound quality elevated the entire performance, which was already exceptional.
My primary concerns regarding the venue were the excessive pricing of beverages and the roomâs temperature. The drink prices were comparable to those of some venues in Boston, despite the venueâs location in Allston rather than Boston. The cost of four liquor drinks, approximately $120 (including a 10-15% tip), was somewhat excessive. However, I acknowledge that as a newer venue, the venue may be seeking a return on its investment.
Additionally, the venue utilized paper straws for beverages, which, while environmentally friendly, were inconvenient. They quickly dissolved or melted into the drink, even when consumed rapidly, which was unfortunate and disappointing. The venue did provide âair,â but it was blowing warm or hot air, rather than the colder air expected for a room of approximately 3,500 people. While this was not a deal-breaker, it did diminish the overall experience.
Despite these minor issues, the venue proved to be an excellent choice for DJ shows. The bass was powerful, the sound was well-balanced, and the experience was comparable to some of my favorites. I promptly purchased tickets for another show in May and eagerly anticipate returning soon. I highly recommend this venue to those seeking a memorable experience.

Read moreWent to Gay Bashâd, they advertised food to be sold at the event, but when you got there, there was nothing for you to eat. Since the venue didnât allow reentry security wouldnât let you go out and get something else and come back in. Nor would they let you order Uber eats or delivery to the door. Since they didnât tell you while you were still outside, You were left with the option of forfeit your $40 plus ticket in order to get something to eat or stay and be hungry. While staying was an option that me and my friends could go with, there were Other concertgoers who had, for example low blood pressure, Who had to make the difficult choice of leaving with no reentry and possibly no refund.
Also, at the beginning, one of my friends were told By the security, that they could put their pepper spray in a box And they may be able to pick it up later, if they just find the box after theyâre done visiting. When they looked through that box later on, one of the security guards told Them that they threw everything up that sort of way, because it was contraband (Or something along those lines). The crazy thing was we had been driven there, and if the guard had told us Anything that they confiscated would be thrown away, we couldâve given it to the person who drove us.
Inside the venue, on the dance floor, It was like the security was nowhere to be seen. There were people getting very drunk, One person to the point Almost falling on people (This guy was like 6â6 So if he fell on somebody, they couldâve gotten seriously injured). These incidents went unaddressed.
It felt like security made a bigger priority of guarding the door versus anything else in the venue. Otherwise, the performers , the bartenders, and the vendors helped to make The event and otherwise fun experience.
The security, at best, didnât communicate with each other well that night, or at worst needs some...
Read moreIf I could leave less than one star I would solely on the security alone. I just left a concert from this venue and I will be calling and contacting as many people as I have to until this message will get across. My partner and I were not only shoved, (which is normal) but also hit, punched, had drinks and food thrown on me, multiple people (over 30+ before the openers were even done) surfing the crowd, I was kicked in the head not one but two times and my partner was also hit in the head by people surfing the crowd. He is going to the hospital to be seen for a potential concussion. The opening acts were ENCOURAGING people to go crazy, I was watching people bleed from the head and people the from band DRAIN were encouraging the pit to âgo crazyâ. I had to split up so many fights from people. I have never seen my partner ever swing at anyone and he was defending me over five plus people. I was being crushed and your security has done nothing to help this. This is all happening in front of your security guards who are too distracted with people surfing the crowd to keep anyone safe. YOUR SECURITY IS HELPING PEOPLE CROWD SURF-ENABLING THE CROWD BY HELPING THEM OUT. I WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK. There is no reason that I, myself as a small woman probably broke up more fights than ANYONE on your security team . You should be ashamed to even host concert venues if you cant control the people there on such a small scale. Please note this is the smallest and most unkept concert I have ever been to. I have gone to concerts of bands on much higher and larger scales and never has such an issue. I couldn't even record the show I paid to go see because I was fighting to even stand up in the pit. We have gone to many pit locations of larger and smaller bands, but you have the worst and most flawed security I have ever been apart...
