This was not the hotel we stayed at while we were in Boulder, however our friends wedding venue was at this hotel. And most of the guest also stayed here. This hotel is known as one of Boulders oldest landmark. It is located downtown just a block away from Pearl Street Mall. The hotel looks like it’s still in it’s beautiful historic state. When you walk in you will see a beautiful stained glass atrium. The hallways, stairways and doorknobs looks to be part of that history as well. The wedding venue was centered around the banister over looking the atrium. It was really quite amazing. The food served was buffet style. I loved the salad and the veggie/vegan options. Of course they also serve chicken, prime-rib, and seafood galore. They served all the types of food for everyone to enjoy! I love that the hotel was connected to two bars for their guests to enjoy. Even though the hotel was located downtown it was not hard to find parking. There were street parking everywhere and a public parking. And get this maximum parking is worth $3.00!!! What?!? Super cheap in my opinion!!! Anyway, if ever in Boulder Hotel Boulderado is one I would recommend. Next time I come visit I will have to stay at this hotel!!!

Ideal hotel for a one night couples getaway! Valet parking and check-in were easy. Valet and front desk staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed the 7:30 comedy show in License No 1. Really cool intimate space underground. Through the Looking Glass and Sidecar drinks were amazing. The food was delicious. The menu is well organized and GF/DF/VG dishes well labeled. We ordered the cauliflower and brussel appetizer and beet salad to share during the show. Afterwards we went upstairs to the Corner Bar for the more small plates; raw oysters, meatballs, Brie, apple and prosciutto, panko crusted chicken and Key Lime Pie. Excellent table service. The Historic King room was spacious and identical to the photo on the website. Bed was comfortable. No USB outlets in the room to charge phones, so definitely bring a wall plug charger. In the morning, we ate breakfast in the hotel which was part of the package. Lots of options. The fruit was fresh, eggs perfectly cooked and the mimosas refreshing. Very walkable to Pearl Street, banks, additional restaurants.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL unless (1) you know it is haunted, and (2) you are okay with being haunted. I was NOT aware of this fact when I booked the Boulderado for a work conference. Upon entering the room I was assigned, I put my bags down and immediately felt uneasy, as if I wasn't alone or that someone could appear in the mirror behind me as I was washing my hands. Thinking that I was being illogical, I went back to the conference hotel to meet my friends and I told them that I suspected my room at the Boulderado might be haunted. Instead of telling me I was being ridiculous, they said, "that's the whole point of staying there - the hotel is haunted." At first I didn't believe them, but my gut feeling that something was wrong and the numerous reviews on Trip Advisor that said people saw a figure appear in their room and other strange occurrences immediately traumatized me and I knew there was no way I could sleep at the hotel that night, especially because my room (514) was right beside the "most haunted room," room 517 (where a suicide took place). I ran back to the hotel and collected my stuff, and went down to the front desk to explain the situation and ask them to cancel my reservation. I was hopeful that they might empathize with my situation, given that my bag had been in the room for less than 30 minutes, I had not touched anything in the room, and I was clearly visibly distressed. Further, I told them I could not stay in the room because my biggest fear in life is to be haunted. Despite this, they were incredibly rude - especially the manager - and did NOTHING to try to make the situation right. I booked the hotel room under false pretenses and in any other situation where the hotel room is unsuitable to stay in, or the guest feels unsafe, you'd expect that the hotel employees would do something about it to rectify the situation. Instead they were patronizing, rude, and simply said there was a cancellation policy and sent me on my way and charged my card for the full amount of the room ($300). I honestly am shocked by their lack of humanity. Sure it may be a ridiculous fear that I have, but I would NEVER have booked this place if I had known it was haunted. Furthermore, to completely disregard someone's fears and treat them so poorly when they are clearly distressed, demonstrates the lack of customer service. So if rude employees and ghosts are your thing, then this hotel is for you. But if you don't want to be haunted by ghosts or haunted by the horrible customer service they offer at this hotel, I highly recommend you go somewhere else. The St. Julien is fabulous, and for a cheaper price, Basecamp Boulder on Arapahoe is nice as well!

I just stayed at this hotel for two nights with my mother and my service dog. I decided to stay here mainly because of the reviews I saw. After my stay, I can only say that the hotel discriminated me because of having a service dog. We not only got the worse room in the entire hotel, room 137, but my service dog also didn’t get a bed or the bowls the hotel provides for other dogs. I only found out about this when I was on my way to check out. I saw a nice bed, with bowls and poop bags outside one of the rooms next to us. I talked to the manager, Ellie, and she didn’t even know the policies of the hotel she is managing. She was rude and completely disregarded my concern. In regard to the room, the room was hidden in the corner next to the handyman closet. We were being waken up everyday at 7AM when they started opening and closing it. I was truly discriminated by this hotel and I’m hating myself for spending so much money here when the hotel is not even good. It just has a good location.

Funny I was going to rate the hotel as a 3 but gave it a 4. The location is a five very close to tons of restaurants shops hiking the university etc. Services are a 5 as the valet front desk and room service is very good. The room and bathroom are a nice size but really dated. The clock radio has an Apple phone attachment from 15+ years ago so I am assuming it hasn’t been renovated since then. It’s also really annoying to be in the north tower taking two elevators and a skyway to get there. I bet there are renovated rooms in the hotel but we didn’t get one. The bed is also small and the heat doesn’t really go down no matter how low you set the thermostat. The coffee maker is also 20 years old and sitting in the bathroom. Meanwhile the hotel itself is historic and worth checking out. We only paid $160 per night including taxes but the valet is $30 so be aware. The gym is an afterthought. You should stay here as it’s a really worth a try.
