On Broadway Salon & spa — Attraction in Boulder

I usually don't give reviews, but I can't help myself. I need to share what an incredible experience my daughter, her 10 (yes, I said "10") bridesmaids, and the mothers of the bride/groom had on the day of the marriage. The morning of hair/makeup preparation for everyone was an extreme treat, and more than simply fabulous work, the energy, support, and authentic affection of the studio owner and all of the staff supported the start of my daughter's "most-important-day-of-her-life" completely. She couldn't have been made to feel more special, more pampered and attended to as the bride, and the rest of us felt the same exquisite, professional treatment. The salon and staff went out of their way with extra care and consideration.

In addition, the owner, David Martinez, did my hair as MOB - I have never had a more beautiful outcome with my hairstyle! I didn't wash it for a week so I could get every mile out of his artistic work I could! "On Broadway" may be off Broadway -- but it's completely spot on in every other respect! Atmosphere, Professionalism, Warmth, Attention and Ambience. Definitely a "5 Star" experience for 13 excited people and a fantastic foundation in all ways for what turned out to be the most wonderful wedding. Thanks again David, and all of the great team/family at "On Broadway".

Bad bad super bad experience with this David guy, first he wanted to tell me what to do with my hair when I got there. I had already a consultation with him to tell him what I wanted he said he “could” do it he starts bleaching the TOP OF my head first we all know everyone start at the tips of the hair since it takes the bottom longer time to lift. no he smugged the bleach everywhere on my head he saw that the color on the bottom was lifting fast so he took me to the sink and started rinsing the bottom part of my scalp only then left me at the sink for 30 min while taking another Client who was also mad about him not taking her for her time in Then when he was drying my hair he was sayin he loved it na na na and then I saw my top did not match my bottom part he still had the dignity to tell me he didn’t have time to Style my hair and sent me home like in the pictures he does not care I messaged him that same night asking for a retouch cause my hair wasn’t even color he said okay at 8 am I went to my appointment got there 15 min late and told me he couldn’t see me anymore he only refunded me half of what I paid him do not go here at all if u want a full color he will not value ur trust . Do not expect professionalism or any sort of regard. Having gone to Ramon since 2018, I can say I will never be back. My experience started off great at this salon, but slowly transformed into such a terrible experience that I felt compelled to write this review. Double booked time slots, rushed haircuts, and no regard for your own time seems to be the norm.

I have not interacted with the owner, but I have seen the shop itself change as well. It was once an incredibly pleasant experience to walk in, but that has slowly changed.

Edit: to add on to the incredible unprofessionalism of this salon, the owner responded attempting to threaten me by blacklisting my name. He said it would be sent to the “close knit hair community of boulder”. I don’t even live anywhere near Boulder, I only supported the salon because I initially had a great experience. The owner then decided to change his scathing response to look into my review history, which I am in huge support of small business.
