So sad to see Michaelâs so so understaff. Also everything is everywhere. I asked for glitter and the assistant had to ask someone else. The place where I was directed had too expensive glitter. As I walked around I found two more places (at more affordable price) where glitter was shelved. Simple things such as Xmas stickers were nowhere to be found. The store looks half empty and disorganized.
I feel that the display system needs to change to a more practical and self guided experience. Consolidating similar items would make it easier and quicker. Computers where the client can write the item wanted and find out if available (or not) and where to find them within the store can improve sales tremendously. I walked out with only half of what I was looking for.
At another store, I was told that most of the floor employees were attending online sales. If it doesnât change, I can sadly foresee Michaelâs becoming an all online store (or just closing) and jobs made redundant.

The store is under staffed, but every store in probably the entire state of mass is under staffed, so I donât understand the negativity and complaining about that. Staff was friendly and tried their best to help. Some boxes were in the aisles but I could just walk around or go down another aisle. Simple problems that have simple solutions. Many customers seemed to be having a little meltdown at the check out when there was a line, but I canât blame the cashier who was working hard regardless. Went to cashiers to see if they could help. The cashier wasn't sure so requested help. Eventually, what I was looking for was found. During my wait, the customer service gal kept the cashier informed of why it was taking so long & she apologized for the delay. CS gal finally finds it & rings up my purchase in a new register so I didn't have to wait in line again AND apologize also. This type of customer service is hard to find nowadays.
