I reccomended this place to my brother in law to get new strings put on his bow as I did not have the time to put it on. So we went there to have the work done and being that it wasn't a flag ship bow or one of there brand flag ship bows that they sell. They basically made it seem that the Martin Bengal he had wasn't worth putting winner choice strings on it and kept down playing the bow which is something that I found insulting and not a good attitude for business. Fred Bear and Martin archery are the originals of the archery industry and because of them is why archery is where it is today. All these new brands have not been around as long Bear and Martin archery who all created single and dual cam compound bows. It took 2 weeks to get the string and bow completed which I had to redo completely because it was not to spec. It was a 70lbs bow and when I checked it, it maxed out at 62 lbs. When this location opened up it was run by Mike and Shawn who originally worked at Ray's before it closed. They treated everyone's equipment with respect. HG used them to get the place up and running then kicked them to the curve. I would not recommend them for work to be done on your bow but for everything else...
Read moreHave to say this is the worst gun shop I've ever been to. My first criticism is that they should hire someone to do clerical work, because when you call, you have to try at least 3 times before someone answers the phone. The guys behind the counter are overwhelmed with customers so by the time they do answer the phone, they're rude.
I ordered a muzzleloader on their website and had it sent to branchburg. Website said 5-10 business days, ok no problem. Well on the 13th day I called them to check on it, guy was nasty and said it had just arrived. I go there to fill out paperwork for it, same guy tells me it'll be 4 days for the NICS check...10 days later still no phone call. I showed up and it was just sitting in a corner in the closet.
A process that should have taken a week took about a month.
You guys should call your customers when their items arrive at the store and keep in touch with them as things move along, like every other shop does.
Hire someone to take care of all the clerical work and things will go much smoother and you'll get more...
Read moreWe inherited some guns from my grandfather that were from WWII. I had found a collector to purchase them but wanted to make sure I was getting what the guns were worth. I called the shop, spoke with Nile and took a trip over. When I got there, the place was packed so I waited a few minutes but then left. I hadn’t even gotten home when Nile called to find out what happened and to see if I was OK. He wanted to make sure no one had done anything to offend me and make me leave. This was the first amazing thing he did. I told Nile my situation and he said to send him pictures and he and his friend (the manager of the Rahway shop) would do some research on them. This was the second amazing thing he did. He called me the following day and gave me great information. He went above and beyond for me and I wasn’t even a customer. Just a woman who came into the shop he managed. This is how people should treat each other across the board. Thank...
