Masa Suchi: A Fifteen-Year Love Affair with Perfection (and a Warm Embrace)
Forget trendy fads and fleeting flavors. Masa Suichi isn't just a restaurant; it's an institution. For fifteen glorious years, I've been returning to this gem, hole in the wall and it consistently reaffirms its place the best sushi restaurant in NJ.
The experience begins the moment you step inside. The atmosphere is small and instantly welcoming, a testament to the genuine warmth of owners Lee and Peter. Lee, with her radiant smile and unwavering attention to detail, greets each guest with her genuine personality. She remembered my preferences, ensuring every visit feels personalized and special.
And then there's Peter, the culinary mastermind behind it all. He's not just a sushi chef; he's an artist, meticulously crafting each piece with passion and precision. The fish is undeniably the freshest, highest quality available, practically melting in your mouth. Peter’s masterful knife skills and impeccable understanding of flavor profiles elevate the sushi experience to an entirely new level. You can taste the difference – this isn't mass-produced sushi; it's a labor of love.
The menu is filled with delectable options, but I highly recommend starting with their rich and comforting Ramen Soup. It's the perfect prelude to the main event. From there, dive into their signature dishes: Central Park Roll, Special Roll and Sushi Pizza ( appetizer).
What truly sets Masa Suichi apart is the unwavering consistency. The quality hasn't wavered in fifteen years, a testament to their dedication and commitment to excellence. I've tried countless sushi restaurants throughout New Jersey, and none even come close to matching the quality and care found at Masa Suichi. And their prices haven’t changed, they are very reasonable for the exceptional quality they offer.
Whether you're a seasoned sushi aficionado or a hesitant newcomer, Masa Suichi is the place to be. It's the perfect spot to experience the magic of truly exceptional sushi, prepared with love and served with unparalleled hospitality. Trust me, one visit and you'll understand why I've been a loyal patron for fifteen years, and why I'll continue to be for many more to come. Don't just eat sushi, experience it at the best . Go to...
Read moreMy fiancé and I ordered delivery this evening. We saw a lot of positive reviews so we were excited to give it a try. We ordered over 80$ worth of food and were highly disappointed. We ordered the pork buns, ramen, scallion pancakes, pan fried dumplings, and hibachi fried rice(missing from the order) We hate to write these type of reviews but when paying such a large sum of money it very sad when nothing was enjoyable. Not a single item had any discernible flavor. We were very excited to see a place in the area with pork buns as they are hard to find. However, they were very bland. I guess this place is only known for their sushi? But from photos we thought their other Asian selections would have been enjoyable too. Unfortunately nothing we order we ate in full and we would not recommend any food from the menu that is not...
Read moreHaven't been to Masa Sushi since 2016, but I have only positive things to say. We were close friends and neighbors with an employee of the restaurant, so naturally, we became close with the owner. The staff was always glad to see us and treated us with the utmost respect. The meals were simple yet delightful, and to name a few of my favorites: Miso soup, Beef bento box, and the the appetizer salad. Not sure if they still serve these dishes but I sincerely hope the menu hasn't changed since I was last there. Overall the food was delicious and served in perfect portions to fill our stomachs. Lastly, the environment of the restaurant is warm and cozy, with a nice interior aesthetic closely following a traditional Japanese display. If you're looking for a quick bite of sushi or a nice lunch, Masa Sushi is the...
