The music is wonderful and it is fun. The food is delicious, but overpriced. Also, the downside is the parking. All the parking is in the grass and it gets muddy. Some vehicles have got stuck in the mud and had to be towed out. If you are going to come, I strongly recommend going in a four wheel drive Jeep or a truck with some off road tires. Also, bring your own folding chair as well too because there are not many places to sit and hardly no shaded areas and the restrooms are port a johns. They do have dry RV camping (no hookups) for $75 for the entire weekend, which that is overpriced for no hookups so I would recommend going to Margaritaville and paying extra for full hookups and a ton of amenities and driving a toad vehicle to the festival.
If you really want to get your fill of boiled crawfish for a decent price and save your money, I recommend go to Lagneaux’s in Scott Louisiana. They have all you...
Read moreMy love for humanity has once again been renewed. With all of the craziness going on in the world I had two ladies (African American) once again step up for this white girl. Had a few people move our chairs while we were dancing during the Horace Trahan (sp?) concert. We were attacked when we asked why they were moved. Told them that decent people didn’t do that. My husband confronted them and wanted to leave but I refused. I had Two ladies come up to me and made me feel better about things and told me to not let those idiots change my enjoyment for the evening. We stayed (without getting out of our chairs) and enjoyed the next group. I cried quite a bit but these two African American ladies (they didn’t see color) made my day and encouraged me to not let these drunks ruin my day. I wish I could give them both a big hug. I wanted them to know they were appreciated. We will be back...
Read moreI would give the festival itself 5 stars, no question. Great music, dancing and food. However if you come in an RV be prepared to get ripped off. We drove our small (24 ft) RV there and entered the line for parking at the main festival lot which advertised parking for $5 for the day. When we got to the front of the line we were told it would be $75 to park for the few hours we planned to be there. The supervisor there apologized for this and said he agreed that it was outrageous but that is what the festival directors had told him was required. He said he planned to bring it up with them after the festival since there had been so many complaints but he could do nothing for us at the moment and directed us...
