Adventure Avenue — Attraction in Broken Arrow

I'm disappointed with our experience at Adventure Ave today and am unsure if we will be returning. Over the past few years, we’ve supported this local business, spending quite a bit. Earlier this year, we hosted a birthday party at their Broken Arrow location, and we frequently purchase toys from their shop. It’s a lovely place to play, always clean and well cared for, with typically friendly staff.

Our son is neurodivergent and can sometimes be loud or energetic. My husband and I fully understand this, and we are doing our best to parent him with care, encouraging him to be gentler and quieter while respecting his creativity and happiness. I watch him closely and correct him as needed. Today, he was being a bit loud and unreserved, but I felt he was creatively engaged, so I was observing to see if he would self-regulate.

One of the co-owners was also watching him, and it was clear she was not pleased. I understand there are rules and expectations, and we’re always willing to follow them. However, had she spoken to me with compassion or redirected his play respectfully—without a disparaging look or comment under her breath—I wouldn’t be writing this review.

Again, I acknowledge that my child can be a bit much, and we’re very mindful of the rules and of caring for the space. We truly needed just a little understanding today. One of the younger girls who worked there before was rude. Towards the end of the play time, my daughter (4) was trying to put up the stuffed animal she was playing with but obviously didn't remeber where it went. She tried putting it on the grocery shelves and the worker snatched the toy, threw it towards the pretend check-out registers, and aggressively told my daughter "that isn't where that goes". She didn't realize I saw, and when I walked up and asked what happened, she faked a smile and tried to act calmer. They shouldn't hire people who don't have patience for kids.
