Stayed for a few weeks for contract work from early to late October. Called city parks and recs office to reserve a spot. Friendly group of people to talk with. Electric 20/30/50 amp at sites. Sites are mostly back-in and could fit our 33' trailer and ram truck ok. I did need an electric extension cord for my 30 amp service. Most sites don't require long power cords. One water spigot by dumpster, along with sewer dump station. Water turned off when below freezing. The shower/ bathroom water was kept on. Water spigot in each bathroom to fill portable water jug. Shower hot with lots of pressure. Shower house was sometimes a little messy from public use as the campground is on public city park land. Some people loiter at night, etc. But they keep to themselves. Never saw police. Nice huge dog park across from campground. Apple orchard and quiet nice looking apartments/townhomes are nearby too. Lots of big cottonwood trees throughout campground which made me nervous when winds picked up. Verizon was bad. Sometimes less than 1mbs, while at other times over 20mbs depending on tower. Occasionally a train can be heard a few times a week, but it's not too bad. Walmart and other stores delivered to campground. Not sure if shower and bathroom are open year round. Doubtful. But campground probably is 25 a night. Brookings is a pleasant and clean little...
Read moreNice little city campground. It was a very nice option since hotel rooms in town were booked and very pricey. Spots are paved and level. They are a little small so bigger equipment would be tough for some. The whole place was well kept. Bathrooms and showers were nice with great handicapped accessibility for those that need it. Make sure you have a hose with to fill your water tanks as it was just a faucet. Park was also nice and well kept. Couple shady individuals walking through during the day using the bathrooms was a little concerning but no issues. We would definitely use this campground again when needing to stay...
Read moreThis is not a place for Travelers looking for a spot to park overnight in their RV. It’s a sweet park, but all the sites were reserved although 2/3 of them are empty. I guess locals book campsites for blocks of time and might only use the campsite on the weekends. I arrived on a Tuesday night, tired from travelling and was hoping to get a spot to overnight. Instead I had to overnight at the Local Walmart, which is very generous but doesn’t have the ambience. There has to be a way to ensure that a few campsites can be used by tourists in the area instead of whole place being empty...
