T.J. Maxx — Attraction in Brookline

So what if I didn't find everything I thought I was looking for?! Being greeted upon store entry was very nice.. and it gets better. While shopping for who knows what (because it's one of stores you can rummage around in) several sales associates asked if they could assist, and/or spoke pleasantries.. but not just in passing but taking a moment & meeting eyes making one feel they mattered in that moment. Made my shopping trip so worth it!!

7/23/22 Back to Tjmaxx. Still very polite. I encountered something different that the front end supervisor handled professionally & efficiently. I had a Marshalls clothing return, tags intact and receipt only 2 days old and in state. As I don't often live shop, thought with today's heat stores might be empty so off I went. Found items thought I'd do return at purchase but didn't realize the Connors aren't that sophisticated lol. Really kind sales associate on register informed me that the company ended inter company returns "recently" as in with 30 days or so. Note: there's nothing printed on receipt; nothing posted that's easy for a customer to see anyway; and a quick check online one cannot find a clear definitive answer. So I was "allowed" to make the return this time. Hmmmm, okay TJX shoppers as we aren't mind readers... most of us will respect this change but please notify us properly please 🙏🏾 One company.....

I used to shop at this place without any problem until today when I tried to return a shower curtain I purchased yesterday. The reason I return it is the curtain is too small for my shower. I also purchased rod and hooks at the store yesterday as well and I kept those since they are OK. I brought the curtain back to the customer service. A guy, later identified himself as Mychael, opened up the whole curtain and staring at it for 2 min while saying "THIS IS DISGUSTING" with a facial expression. I am sorry that it is raining outside and a few drops of rain may get onto the curtain. But I am also looking at the curtain while he opens it up and staring at it and there is nothing noticeable from my view. Of course, it is possible that there are a few drops of water due to the rain. I told him that I am upset that he said that. He replied: "IT IS DISGUSTING". I told him that you should give it back to me instead of insulting a customer like that. He said: "I said it to myself, I apologize if you overheard it. I am returning it for you anyway." Well, that says it all. I stopped arguing and asked for his name so I can complain the right person. Well, I am sure I will never...
