Although i am leaving a single star for my overall experience at this venue, I would like to point out the good, notable things. The bartenders were super cool. The venue was nice. The line didn’t take too long to get in. Other than that, i am absolutely APPALLED at the way the security here treats their attendees. It’s gross how you employ men that continue to use their power to threaten and hurt people. There are SO many comments discussing the security here and it seems you have done nothing about it. I agree with the other review that mentioned that they have some serious aggression issues, and go on total power trips. This team needs to be revised. After being suffocated by the crowd and afraid for our safety, my boyfriend and I went against the back wall and took a little kneel. The tall, larger man with a grey beard approached us. As a security guard, we figured he was just checking on us to make sure everything was ok. Boy we were wrong. He called me super profane names such a the b word and c word after he ripped our wristbands off and told me and my boyfriend we were “too drunk” to be in the venue. He blatantly lied and said the reason he was kicking us out was because we pushed him earlier, which is simply not true. We flew all the way halfway across the country to see this show and not even see the main artist, before this guy went on a total power trip. It was honestly heartbreaking. We told him that he could take our wrist bands, we didn’t need to drink, that’s not why we were there. He and the whole rest of your security laughed in our faces. unfortunately, he probably won’t get any consequences for his actions. We understand that we don’t have a RIGHT to be in the venue, it’s just so incredibly frustrating the team that has been chosen to run this place. It will eventually catch up when the people have had enough. I have never been treated with such disrespect and harassed by a group of people....
Read moreI am usually a pretty easy going person who doesn’t go out of their way to leave a bad review but my experience here was so violating I had to.
Last night, my friends and I went to see one of our favorite musical artists Kenny Hoopla. However, 10 seconds into the show neither the guitar OR bass guitar audio was working. All that you could hear was vocals and drums. After the first song the sound people realized this and began trying to fix the issue. After a 10 minute wait, the band started playing again, and again the audio was not fully working. After a second 15 minute intermission of trying to fix the sound, it was still not coming through the speakers. After that it seemed like the sound people gave up and let the concert go on with only drums and vocals essentially 80% of the whole concert. How can a rock venue not solve the audio of a simple quartet band consisting of drums, vocals, guitar and bass guitar?? That’s about as SIMPLE as it gets when it comes to a rock band.
After the concert, I talked to the sound lady at the mixing board and she just kind of shrugged her shoulders saying it all worked in sound check and didn’t know why it wasn’t working. Pretty much, she didn’t care at all the whole concert was ruined. You could tell the artist was upset and not to mention it was his first show of the new tour.
Needless to say, I think Paradise Rock Club will be not only be losing customers, but artists as well. If you want to go see a musical performance, do not come here because all you’ll get is a visual...
Read moreAfter waiting months for this show, booking a hotel with a 15minute walk, driving 3 hours, tonight was finally the night for the show. The Bumpin Uglies have become an important tribute in a sense to two very important people we have lost in our lives. Tonight really meant something. To the fault of his own, a very good friend (and part of this crew) forgot his liscene at the hotel. He had to walk back, alone in a city he didn't know to get it and return. And by some miracle he got back right when kashd out started and I was so happy. Then they proceeded to come escort him out of the club for having a drink. The man is damn near 35 years old. He is short. Revelant only because of their discrimination. My boyfriend went to talk to the manager, who completely disregarded him because he is a black man. And I know this because when I came to see what was happening and I spoke to this man, I saw him look at me differently and shrug. Its basically too late, he was saying. I didn't know they were with you, a white woman. I'm disgusted at the lack of humanity and proper respect to discuss something with a patron before accusing and ruining such an important night for us. People attending your shows are patrons, are people who are helping to keep your business open. I hope you think twice next time before jumping to conclusions and really ruining something beyond important to people I love very dearly. To do not recommend this club to anyone. Find a different place to see your favorite bands,...
