Edit: After speaking to Rick at Corporate, this situation has been rectified.
I have shopped here for years now. But today, March 13, 2019 will probably be the last. I went in to get a cake from the bakery, and an older woman who spoken broken English was listening to what I wanted on the cake. Now instead of writing out happy 14th birthday and my daughters name, I asked to just draw 6 lines, one of each color, approximately 3-4" long to resemble the pride flag. The woman looked at me and flat out said " We don't do that here". Now as I asked her to explain what she meant, she began to get rude and defensive. Then told me "Well you can put in an order and I'll do it but charge you an extra $10. She refused to make it as I asked. The poor kid working decorating the cake, I know agreed and understood what I asked for, but had to do as he was told. So I called the manager of the store, who pretended he didn't know what woman I was referring to, when even the security guard at the door I asked how to get ahold of corporate new who I was talking about. And said she's had several people mention her rudeness to her. Now not only was this rude, it was downright DISCRIMINATORY. So I proceed to call corporate which the first woman hung up on me, so I called back and the second woman listened to what I had to say, but basically said she would just write a report and gave me a case #. Then the survey called me back as it should to see how well customer care took care of the problem, and it said press any key to proceed. I peed a key and it disconnects. IS THIS HOW THEY TREAT ALL THEIR "VALUED" CUSTOMERS???? I feel like calling Fox8 and speaking to a reporter I know and even getting the LGBTQ involved and set up a picket and make a huge news story out of this. It could have simply been avoided by drawing six lines, one of each color, three to four inches long. It wod have been easier for the poor kid decorating the cake as well. He was so visibly shaken that he misspelled her name, I told him I understood just wipe it off and correct the two letters. But how ridiculous this whole situation was. If you ask me, the woman was not only rude but VERY...
Read moreI have never felt more disrespected in my life I went to check out this morning and a woman named Kim was so rude to me here's a funny story about it I happened to mention what happened to me a Giant Eagle to one of my co-workers my coworker said was it a woman named Kim with the most surprise in the world I said yes how did you know she said oh I've had an issue with her as well she said even her coworkers don't like her my niece works there and she can't stand her she had her own story to tell me about how Kim was very disrespectful she even mentioned that there was a woman in her book club that does not shop at Giant Eagle anymore just because of Kim so I guess this woman has made a name for herself me and my family of six will not shop at Giant Eagle anymore until she is removed whether that be a termination or transfer to another store but we're going to go to Aldi's. Giant Eagle please do something about Kim and her nasty attitude she seems like the kind of person where if you give her just a little bit of power she abuses it we all work with one of those people, but with one story if I heard multiple and I didn't even mention her name you know she's trouble even though she may or may not be a hard worker she might lose you thousands of dollars in sales because of her...
Read moreMy review pertains to the dry cleaning service this Giant Eagle has at their customer service desk. I’ve tried dropping dry cleaning off there twice now and both times I was unimpressed with the customer service.
First time I took an Easter bunny costume in for dry cleaning (it was dry cleaned before with no problem somewhere else) and the woman working the counter (her name was Stephanie) refused to wash some of the components of the costume…she said they would melt…? I ended up washing them myself and they were fine.
What really upset me was this morning I went to take in a comforter that I used to keep my dying cat comfortable during his “transition”. I ended up having to put him down last week. The same lady refused to accept the comforter because it had fur on it. Duh! Why do think I need it dry cleaned?! Isn’t that precisely what a dry cleaner is supposed to do?!
Anyway, I ended up taking the comforter to another, more professional dry cleaner in town that was more than happy to accept my furry comforter. Thanks for nothing, Giant Eagle Dry Cleaning. Word to the wise: do not expect much from GE’s dry cleaning service....
