Rewind Diner — Restaurant in Brooklyn

I wish I could give 0 stars. I was very excited to visit this new business. We waited over 40 minutes for our food to come out and 3 out of 4 orders were completely wrong and had to be sent back. They even managed to mess up one of our orders twice. There were several other tables that got their orders before us. Then our waitress never came came back to our table once to refill drinks. We ordered milkshakes to go and proceeded to pay our tab. They in fact did not comp anything. When asked about the bill not being adjusted the waitress was extremely rude and said everything is video and audio recorded. I asked her to check the tape which she ignored. Later the manager came out to try to resolve the situation, but he erroneously charged us an extra $25 dollars for a tip that we did approve. He gave us $25 dollars in cash. It was a horrible experience. To add insult to injury, when we left a "customer" was outside speaking badly about us and how her girlfriend (the waitress) did nothing wrong. That "customer" had been sitting in the restaurant the whole time, without ordering anything. I had assumed that person was a customer because our waitress spent so much time talking to her. Extremely unprofessional experience and extremely unprofessional for the waitress' girlfriend to be outside the restaurant bad mouthing us. The food sucked. Staff sucked. Really a restaurant that doesn’t have it down yet! First they said our group of 8 would have to order via their kiosks. Then the first two that tried were having trouble. Then we saw a waitress taking an order at a table. So we asked if they could take our order. Yes, so I went first. 7 orders came out and not mine. Since our waitress never checked back with us to see how things were or for more coffee. The group suggested I find someone because everyone had their breakfast but me. I walked over to a waitress to see if she could check on my breakfast and if it wasn’t started please cancel since most of the group were almost done. 15 minutes later they brought out my order. Nearly all were done. I declined the breakfast and we still hadn’t had seen our waitress for a second cup of coffee. I asked do you only get one cup of coffee? Oh yes you do. Well can we please have more coffee? The service was really bad. The kiosks you see when you come in cause confusion for customers and the restaurant. I found out about this place after receiving a coupon flyer in the mail. Had no idea it existed. I used to visit here as a kid when it was Steves Diner and get a milkshake and fries. I'm glad I stopped by to see what they've done with the place. It's not 24 hours like the previous diner located here, but the food is excellent. The atmosphere is clean, decorated, and oldies play from the speakers. The service was barebones and precise, just like a diner's service oughta be.

I chose to sit at the bar and ordered a smoked kielbasa breakfast, blueberry pancakes, and washed it all down with hot black coffee. The kielbasa was seared just right. The hash browns were crispy. The egg was cooked properly (I requested them to be made over easy). The pancakes were better than I expected, they had a pleasant buttery/vanilla flavor on their own and were light and fluffy in texture. The hot black coffee was bottomless and it was a damn fine cup of joe that would put a smile on Dale...
