This past Saturday, February 15, 2025 two of my nieces, one of my nephews & I went out to celebrate my niece’s completion of her cosmetology program. We were excited to have an early dinner together to rejoice and celebrate my nieces accomplishment. We drove from North Olmsted With excitement and growling tummies looking forward to eating at red juicy crab. When we got inside we waited in line. There were two people in front of us. We patiently waited. Shortly after two other guests came into the restaurant and they smelled of a strong aroma. My nieces laughed and made some jokes with the two guests that came in shortly after us about the aroma that they smelled like, it was a fun, funny and lighthearted exchange between them.
To our knowledge the greeter was trying to get our attention which we had no idea, as we turned to look in her direction, see gestured us rudely in a very snarky way “are you guys coming”. I was taken a back by her rudeness. I was completely caught off guard by how she was addressing us and attempting to seat us. I asked “are you talking to us”? She rudely says “yes”!
Unfortunately my nieces and nephews responded to her negativity and we asked for a different server. She says “I’m not your server anyway”. We asked can we just get someone else because you are very rude.
We got another greeter to seats us and we waited at the table for maybe five minutes for someone to come to the table. The manager comes to our table and tells us that we are not being served and if we could leave the restaurant because none of the servers wants to service us.
The initial greeter was a fairly young early 20’s Caucasian female, I did not get her name, she spoke very rudely to us four African-American customers.
It felt like a display of racism and rudeness from that greeter, we were escorted out.
I attempted to speak to the manager on my own and had my nieces and nephews go to the car. I told the manager that the server was not a victim, her rude behavior Initiated the inappropriateness. The children responded to the way they were spoken to. Sadly, the manager, says that it still wasn’t acceptable for my nieces & nephew & that we were in the wrong, that they weren’t allowed to eat there but I would be allowed to. I told her I as well would not want to eat there because any establishment that condones that type of bad behavior is not somewhere that I wanna spend my hard earned dollar.
I was willing to give the greeter a pass and just ignore it. Maybe she was having a bad day but when the manager came over, I then knew that this young lady was playing a privileged victim role which I think customers should be forewarned of this. I have never been kicked out of a restaurant before and I go out to eat in different north east Ohio areas. This was a first and unfortunately it probably won’t be the last of hidden racism masked as rudeness & greeters thinking it’s acceptable to speak to customers that way.
But happy Black History Month, 2025.
Update: after posting my initial review, the manager responded. After reading other customers reviews, even if we did handle it by going through management (by the sound of the other customers experience with the rude greeters), management would not have done anything to hold her accountable. So if we did not respond verbally to the rude greeter and I had escalated it to management, nothing would have been done based on what I’m seeing other customers have experienced.
The greeters rudeness is condoned at this restaurant and that makes it uncomfortable to dine here as an African-American customer. Multiple customers have written reviews over the years about this location and the rudeness that they have experienced. I had not known this. And after reading the managers response, she supports the rudeness within this establishment.

Read moreI've come to this location over a handful of times and have always had a great experience until March 29th, 2024. At 7:09 pm we put our number down with the manager. I believe her name is Jessica, We got the text to our phone to let us know when our table is ready. It was for me, my husband and my one year old son who is in a stroller. We were told 35 to 40 mins, No problem! We stood in our vehicle until 5-10 mins before the time frame we were given. After a few parties were called to be seated my husband went to the counter and checked the status and was told 3 were ahead and then us, Again no problem. 15 mins past, now it's an hour wait. An elderly couple goes to check the status and when the young lady asks how long she has been here she says 30 mins. I found this odd as I have been here for 1 hour now. Fast forward a party comes in with 14 and quickly gets seated, Then the elderly couple got seated afterwards, At this point I went to the counter 2 young ladies were at the counter one with black eyeglasses, I spoke with and asked the status that I have been here for over an hour and she asked the name and then the phone number . She shows a face of confusion and then says we were marked off and that the number on her end was wrong. At this point I am not happy, Someone messed up and I know it was not the manager because we got the text. I was frustrated and said we needed to sit down now because it made no sense how parties were getting sat while we have been here for over an hour. I am being told 35-40 mins and parties with more than 3 people are being told 25 mins. I asked to speak to a manager that got ignored, The young lady had an attitude then when I got frustrated she then tells me "We're busy" like I clearly have not been sitting here for a long period of time and then she goes to tell me I would need to leave my stroller behind the counter to be able to sit meanwhile I have my son who just turned one. I told her I am NOT leaving my stoller and I needed to be seated now, now it's 8:24pm, We got seated by 8:29PM ...how ironic? Our server was Rachel, I have had her a few times. Rachel is amazing. She always takes good care of us, When she came to me to ask for drinks I was still upset and shared a little of what occured and she apologized but I expressed it was not her fault. Food was mediocre for the price and size of food has shrunk I see. As a Brooklyn resident I will not recommend this location due to the immaturity of the younger staff at the host counter. Retraining is needed and the young lady with the black eye glasses needs to hold herself together and understand if it was her and witness and encountered what I did and was told what she said to me, then she would be upset too. Attitudes and carelessness is an ever lasting impression and can easily damage a relationship with a customer. You never know who you are speaking to and what impact they have in the city let alone...
Read moreI would tend to go here 4-5 times a month I have dietary issues which I was trying to explain to my waitress. Her name was Lisa rather than listening to what I was requesting she took to a loud speaker to attempt to yell ask my request to manager like I was asking for something for free. It was all over me asking her to put broccoli in a steamer bag instead of corn due to some food concerns. I also would have paid more but I also can’t eat a whole bowl as I’m a bariatric patient. I told my wife don’t worry about it just order whatever she’s telling you we will just order our normal thing with our other waitress (the one that up charges me but brings me a half potion in the bag so it’s cooked in the sauce). At this point it isn’t a big deal the waitress is just mortifying me. She said no problem I will get you another waitress and snobbishly walks away from the table. At this point I guess I’m not going to eat here? I brought my two teen nieces here one of which for her birthday it’s a terrible experience over 4.50 for some broccoli? I ask to speak to a manager she behaves in which I’m somehow trying to steal something . Which I’ve never once not been charged on any occasion and not tipped at least 20 percent on top of whatever my visit was. There is barely a apology for the way this sever behaved. I then attempted to get corporate information/ the owner or franchise owner information for the location and was told the unapologetic manager was the owner which is a lie. So if that’s something they tell you during your visit you might want to talk to co-owner Cody Lin if you have a issue cause it’s clear management won’t be reporting your issue to the ownership staff she’s just going to lie and say she is the owner. Most the staff know me there as not only do I eat there 4 plus times a month and fully pay and tip my bills regardless of my servers but I also am a doordasher with about 4000 orders that’s helped your location stay in business delivering your orders since you’ve been in business. I’m not writing this review because I want any response or even a free soda. I’m writing it so other patrons know the terrible service that your management and server provide. Also if they need to reach out to your owner they actually know how. Edit:Again as you can see there lack of care in response I don’t care about the policy or how much the broccoli is happy to pay for it as I have been for the last 2 years I’ve been a customer. What I care about is being treated like garbage by your singular waitress and your management. While being lied to about who owns your establishment, for being a customer asking a question about your menu. Have...
