I lived at Aggie Station my for the past two years, and overall it was a pretty good experience; not quite a five-star one, but I’d give it four-and-a-half if I could. The staff were always extremely friendly whenever I dropped by the office to pay rent or pick up a package. I always paid rent in person, as the online system charges a convenience fee, which is a little behind the times. My upstairs neighbors were terrible, and at one point during the year started dropping their trash bags down onto our patio. I talked to the staff, but since (at the time) I hadn’t actually seen them do it, there wasn’t much the staff could do about it, which I sort of get. However, they were very sympathetic and, since leaving bags of trash outside is against the rules, very helpfully wrote a note to the manager and maintenance staff letting them know that any bags of trash on my patio were not mine, and thus we would not be subject to a fine. Maintenance requests were usually completed in a timely fashion, with the exception of one or two. In particular, the smoke detector battery in my room started dying, which meant the detector started beeping. This happened on a Saturday morning. I talked to the office, who informed me that while it was their responsibility to replace the battery, it wasn’t considered an “emergency” and thus wouldn’t be fixed until Monday. That was all very well, but I couldn’t sleep with that constant beeping. I ended up buying my own battery and replacing it. The apartments themselves were in decent condition, although the longer I lived there the more I noticed the cracks (literally, in some cases), as the apartments are aging. The only utility you’re responsible for paying is electricity; water and internet are provided, although the internet is through Suddenlink, who has a monopoly on the area and is the WORST. The amenities were also pretty good; I took advantage of the nice pool that was always clean, and the computer center that had free printing (you bring your own paper). Aggie Station advertises a 24hr computer center, however, that’s only true if you’re already in the room. The door locks from the outside at a certain time (12 am, I think?). At least when I lived there, the apartments were pretty affordable, especially for a furnished apartment extremely close to campus. Seriously, the location couldn’t be better; it’s a five minute bike ride to campus, and a ten to fifteen minute walk. While Route 15 doe stop right outside the complex, I will note that it gets very crowded during “peak” times (8-10 am, 4-6 pm or so). However, I just walked across the street to the GSC and Route 6, which was always deserted, and...
Read moreI’m currently a Junior at TAMU and i’ve been living in Aggie Station since my freshman year. It’s genuinely a great place to live in. I love it. The staff at Aggie Station are wonderful. Aubriana is the person in charge of the building I live in and she’s absolutely the best! Whenever i’ve had issues in my unit that needed quick resolving, the staff and service team were efficient, attentive, and very professional. I’ve always had my work orders resolved in less than 3 days. The location is great! There is a bus stop in the property with a bus that passes by every 10-ish minutes. It’s very convenient because it can get you to campus in around 15 minutes. Additionally, walking isn’t that bad. I’ve walked to campus several times and it takes me around 15-20 mins to get to class. If you bike to campus, the street you take straight down to campus has bike lanes, so you don’t have to bother riding on the sidewalk. The location is also in a cool part of town. Its right on College Main St, and if you walk down that street you’ll end up in Northgate, where you could grab a quick bite, stop by cvs, or go study at Starbucks. I live in a 4 bedroom 4 bathroom unit and I think the size of my room is perfect. However, two of my roommates have significantly smaller rooms although they pay the same rent as me. that being said, the apartment common areas are comfortably spacious. I really recommend living here! My roommates and i love it. We’re comfortable, we’ve become friends with the staff, and we just overall feel welcomed living here. Its obviously an old apartment complex that has been around for a while, but their prices are also reasonably adequate for what you get. I don’t think you could go wrong...
Read moreAggie Station is the definition of mid. It's not a bad thing but it's just an all around mediocre place for a slightly high price.
Cons: -Ugly popcorn ceilings -Terrible lighting which makes the whole apartment look dark and depressing -Kitchen is also pretty ugly, no granite tops, just grey plastic looking tops -really small cramped bedrooms -old appliances -thin walls so you can hear everything -wifi is on and off -bugs (not that bad but still) -apartment came dirty and wasn't cleaned -rent is not that bad for Northgate but it is slowly increasing and is getting close to the point that it's not worth the rent -gym is awful
Pros: -Relatively cheap for northgate -Really close to campus and Northgate -pool is nice but small -pretty quiet -sand volleyball court -pretty clean outside -lots of nice apartment events for residents -safe -cheaper utilities -fully furnished -great roommate matching -good maintenance
Random things: -If you're looking for a social and fun apartment complex, this isn't the place. Most people that live at Aggie Station are introverts, engineers, and quiet people who keep to themselves and don't party or socialize at all. -Kinda ugly apartment as stated before but it's one of the better ones near northgate
Overall it's ok but it wouldn't be my first option. However for northgate, it is one of the better options but if you don't care about being close to northgate I recommend looking into the Stack, Domain, or somewhere slightly farther like the heights, Pershing pointe, or...
