Atmosphere: Located on the corner of central downtown Bryan, the glass windows makes the establishment inviting as well as the illuminated sign leading you towards the double door entrance. Once you enter, the establishment looks very grand and the tall ceiling only adds to that. Overall theme looks mid-century mod and it carries througout the whole establishment. Everything looks clean but also give an inviting feeling for many to gather.

Service: Prior to going towards the bar area, I was greeted by the hostess and if I needed any assistance. Once I got to the bar, I was greeted by the bartender shortly thereafter. It being my first time there, I was recommended the Black Whiskey Smash after I told her what I liked and disliked. On my next drink, I asked the bartender a comparison of two drinks, in which he was knowledgeable of and gave me the reasons why they were different and what to expect from each of those, which I thought was very helpful in selecting my drink of choice.

Quality: The Black Whiskey Smash had a great presentation and wished I would have recorded the process of it. The egg white was something I never had in a drink and thought it would throw me off but it almost resembled like a meringue texture. It had a great flavor profile but unsure if I needed to consume all of the egg white to fulfill the taste of the drink. I also had the Five and Dime, which from the two, had the more fruity flavor. I felt the drink was more balanced overall and went down smoothly throughout the entire drink.

Fili's Fave: I would highly recommend introducing the Five and Dime in your...

Hush and Whisper offers an excellent selection of drinks, and the rotating menu adds a refreshing twist that makes each visit feel unique. I recently invited some coworkers to experience First Friday and close out the evening with a few drinks here. The atmosphere was fantastic — the mid-century aesthetic is beautifully done and really sets the tone for a relaxed and stylish night out.

Unfortunately, our visit was marred by a disappointing interaction with one of the staff members. A heavy-set gentleman with a beard, who I sincerely hope is not the owner, responded rudely when I inquired about their whiskey selection and what might be coming up on the menu. I had genuinely been trying to express interest and appreciation for their mash, but he seemed to misinterpret my questions as complaints and dismissed me in a way that felt unnecessarily curt.

Experiences like this make it hard to confidently recommend the place to others, which is a shame considering how much potential Hush and Whisper has. I hope this was just an off night for that particular employee, as the rest of the visit was...

Fantastic experience-- it's as as though downtown Bryan is personified as the big city when you step in here! My girl friend and I stopped in for a quick happy hour around 4. The place filled up around us as we enjoyed two of the cocktails recommended by the bartender-- mine was a Ginger Gimlet (so smooth) and my friend chose the rose-colored Whiskey Smash garnished with thyme.

Music level was perfect, ambiance is on par, and friendly staff. Textures upon colors upon textures, moody lighting as the sun set, and of course the impressive still piping itself is gorgeous.

So glad for this classy new spot! I'm sure returning Ags will love the place and taking a bottle home with them, but also-- great job transforming an historic icon downtown into something even more beautiful that...

Great atmosphere right in the downtown area! We had a couple of drinks in the window peninsula (didn't get a picture) near the front of the distillery, and it was a very quaint place to sit and take in the downtown Bryan district. Nikolai (the owner- I believe) came to our table and made sure we were comfortable and our drinks were to our liking (which were amazing). Upstairs has more seating where you can overlook the first floor bar area. Locally owned food trucks are expected to be right out front of the distillery for convenience, so it definitely is a place to come check out!
