I would put 100 stars if Google would allow! I had a multi-month long project for a business class to complete. For the project we had to go and interview a business owner and learn more about his business, the ways he runs his business, tools he uses, and what sets his business apart from other businesses. I called and asked to interview the owner, Mr. Cerone. Mr. Cerone gladly agreed. After several times out at the restaurant and multiple months of learning about the restaurant we decided on the things that set this restaurant apart from others. At Caffe Capri you will find a casual to semi-formal laid back atmosphere. As a student, I know money can be scarce. If you're on a student budget but still want a nice, quality, and affordable place to go on a date, go to Caffe Capri! The food is wonderful! My personal favorite is "a bow tie affair". You get free fresh out of the oven homemade bread with your meal. When you go to a restaurant you obviously want the food to be good, but you also want the service to be even better. Caffe Capri has it all. Mr. Cerone was extremely kind and went out of his way to help my project group out a lot. On several occasions I saw Mr. Cerone talking to many of his repeat customers. If you visit multiple times your face will not be forgotten! There are several long-time employees there which helps to make your visits personable with all the familiar faces. The food comes out quickly and the wait staff is always very friendly and eager to help you in any way they can. So, if you're looking for a place to go have lunch or dinner this is the place to go! All in all Caffe Capri did not disappoint, I would give it a 100 out of 5 stars! This is THE place...
Read moreComing from the northeast and hailing from an Italian family I'm incredibly critical of Italian restaurants. When I moved to Texas I was robbed of my family Italian and pizza joints, but as I spend more time in Texas the more I find good places, Caffe Capri is one of these.
As usual I ordered my favorite, chicken parmesan, a great way to gauge the quality of the food at an Italian restaurant. The service was kind and very prompt, but forgot to give us straws. (a minor mishap)
My friends who had been here before ordered "The Lobster" which is a penne with cream sauce topped with chunks of lobster, very good sauce, but there wasn't nearly enough of it. My chicken parmesan on the other hand was strange but very good. Abnormally it had tortellini and a cream sauce for the pasta on the side instead of the usual spaghetti and red sauce that the chicken is topped with. Nevertheless the tortellini was very good, as well as the cream sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked and very crispy, it was also topped with the perfect amount of cheese.
All in all my main gripe was that the portion sizes and prices were a little higher compared to what I'm used to. Also the fact that every dish I saw just never really had enough sauce. The atmosphere is eclectic and casual, has a very cool feel and is very clean despite what you might think at a glance. Any attire from casual to after church wear is appropriate here, not a really a real dress code. Perfect for a casual lunch or a date.
If the portions were bigger and there was more sauce I would probably rate this 5 stars. Besides that this place is fantastic, totally worth the trip to...
Read moreCaffe Capri is my absolute go-to for Italian food in the BCS area—hands down! You are guaranteed to find a meal on the menu that you'll love. My favorites include the Cajun tortellini, baked penne, and chicken parmigiana. Don't forget to order the mozzarella garlic bread; it's absolutely delicious, especially if you save some for your meal.
Whenever friends or family are looking for a place to eat, I always suggest Caffe Capri, and they've always been delighted with the experience, especially those who are new to the restaurant. Additionally, my student organization was able to use the banquet space upstairs. We all had a wonderful time, and everyone was impressed by the food, service, and hospitality.
Rami, the restaurant’s owner, and the rest of the team are always a pleasure to talk to. Rami is particularly engaging; he often strikes up a conversation and always asks how our meal was. Lastly, the atmosphere and the building itself are unique, with a rich connection to Downtown Bryan. It’s an absolute must-see and eat destination in the BCS area, and I look forward to my...
