StageCenter Community Theatre — Attraction in Bryan

Like a page out of a novel, this place is in desperate need of a good author in order to describe it's appearance. Severely outdated and in dire need of repair/upgrade. This place reminds me of a back alley run down dive theater where bad actors portray the characters in poorly written plays. BUT....... Despite the appearance of the dilapidated stage, the sun par sound system, and the dark, dank, chilly, tiny theater, we witnessed MAGIC on that stage! The play was Christmas Story. I was surprised and impressed by some of the talent hidden there on that rickety old stage. Those guys and gals poured their heart and soul into this production and a couple of them stood out and shines BRIGHTLY. I definitely recommend this to anyone who would love to be completely engulfed into the world of Ralphy and his quest for a bb gun. What an awesome job!! Such a joy it has been to get to take in so many amazing straight drama productions right in Downtown Bryan. What makes Community Theater either a joy or a drag is the people and there are so many special people who have brought their talents both on stage, off stage, and even just regular theater audience members. This place in downtown Bryan is awesome!! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the chairs need to be in a half circle so everyone has a much better view of the stage. My husband and I have been to numerous plays at their old building but there were way too many stairs to climb. Bryan College Station is very lucky to have them in their midst.
