We visited the Farmer’s Market today in Bryan and wanted to share our experience. Overall, we enjoyed it and purchased some coffee, flowers, and bread. Before leaving, we noticed the Biryani Hut stall from a distance and were curious about their samosas. The vendor called us over and offered us a few samples. We decided to buy some samosas, but the vendor started placing sauce jars into the bag without clearly communicating what was included or their prices—which were not visibly marked. He asked in a hurried tone if we wanted garlic naan or butter naan, and I declined. Despite that, he took out more sauces from behind the stall, put them in the bag, and then said the total was $36. We thought that was quite expensive, but since we were carrying many bags and assumed the sauces came with the samosas, we paid and left. Later, once we got to the car, we realized he had included three different sauces we hadn’t asked for. We ended up paying nearly three times more than we intended. In hindsight, we should have double-checked before paying and refused the extras. However, the vendor was very pushy and added the sauces without our consent. While all the other vendors were polite and friendly, this particular interaction left us with an unpleasant impression.

The farmers market wouldn’t be the same without Bella Vista Farm! it’s my Saturday treat! Their booth is always overflowing with the most beautiful, fresh flowers and jars of the best honey you’ll ever taste. The honey tastings are such a fun experience and truly show the unique flavors each season brings. Flowers, honey, and warm smiles!!! Bella Vista Farm is always the highlight of my market mornings!!!!

“What’s in your lunch box?” has my favorite breakfast tacos. The kindest people ever. Also, love getting natural products & fresh fruit from all the tents there! Farmers Market is a must see in College Station, Bryan area.

We enjoyed most of our visit to the Bryan Farmer’s Market—great stalls with coffee, flowers, and fresh bread. However, our experience with the Biryani Hut stall was disappointing. We were curious about their samosas, and the vendor called us over to offer samples, which we appreciated. We told him we wanted to buy samosas, but without asking us, he started putting multiple sauce jars into a bag, some taken from behind the stall, not even in plain view.

There were no visible price tags, and he didn’t tell us how much anything cost. He asked, in a hurried and loud way, if we wanted garlic or butter naan, we said no. Despite this, he continued adding items to the bag. At the end, he said the total was $36, which caught us off guard. We assumed the sauces were part of the samosa combo due to how rushed and unclear the interaction was.

When we got to our car and checked, we realized we’d been given three jars of sauces that we never asked for and wouldn’t have purchased if we’d known the price. It felt like we were pressured into buying more than we wanted, and that left a negative impression after an otherwise enjoyable...

I love visiting the Bryan Farmer’s Market and supporting local vendors, but I had a disappointing experience with Biryani Hut. After we tried their samosa samples and said we’d like to buy some, the vendor began packing sauce jars, some taken from behind the table without explaining or asking if we wanted them. Prices weren’t displayed clearly, and he never mentioned what we were being charged for.

He rushed through the interaction, loudly asking if we wanted garlic or butter naan (we declined), and kept putting more items in the bag. Then he told us it would be $36. We were carrying multiple bags and assumed the sauces came with the samosas, so we paid and left.

When we checked later, we realized we were given three sauces we hadn’t agreed to buy. The whole interaction felt pushy and unclear. I’d encourage the vendor to be more transparent and respectful of customer choices...
