I recently had an appointment at Gold Coast in Buena Park for my annual cleaning, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. From the moment I called to schedule my appointment, I encountered several issues that left me disappointed and frustrated.
Firstly, the call center staff misspelled my name in their system, despite me spelling it out for them three times. Additionally, they somehow managed to enter my age as nine years younger than my actual age. I couldn't understand how such basic information could be mishandled.
Upon arriving at the office, I was taken aback by the lack of a warm greeting from one of the receptionists. Both front desk staff members appeared rude and uninterested in providing a welcoming atmosphere.
What bothered me the most was the fact that no one informed me, as a new patient, about the office's policy of requiring x-rays and a consultation with the dentist before a cleaning. I specifically stated to the call center rep that my reason for the visit was a routine cleaning, but I was told on the day of the appointment that I had to take x-rays and see the dentist first, which I had not allotted time for. This lack of communication was frustrating and left me feeling misled.
To make matters worse, the x-ray process took an unexpectedly long time, approximately 25 minutes, and the technician mentioned that my cleaning was not guaranteed because it depended on the hygienist's availability. I found it concerning that my scheduled cleaning, which I had emphasized, was now in question. This made me question the overall organization and efficiency of the office.
Despite the disappointing start, I must say that the hygienist and dentist were both friendly and professional. I did enjoy my cleaning and found their demeanor pleasant. However, it is disheartening that their efforts were overshadowed by the shortcomings of the rest of the staff.
Furthermore, during my time at the office, I couldn't help but notice an ant infestation. This was certainly an unpleasant surprise and raised concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene standards within the facility.
In summary, my experience at Gold Coast was marred by multiple issues. The rude and uncommunicative front desk staff, the call center's inability to accurately record my information, and the disorganized approach to appointments left me disappointed. While the hygienist and dentist provided a satisfactory service, it wasn't enough to compensate for the overall negative experience. I hope that Gold Coast takes these points into consideration and works towards improving their customer service, communication, and overall...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere do I begin? I scheduled an appointment with Gold Coast Dental regarding the extraction of my wisdom teeth. Keep in mind that prior to coming here, I received a consultation from a different provider; a dental specialist- a DDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to be exact. I first want to state that the receptionist was beyond exceptional- she deserves a 5 star rating. So if your reading this, this is not directed towards you. Anyhow, I have PPO insurance and I went over my benefits to know exactly whatās covered, etc. To be quite frank, the doctors added, what I believe, additional costs and unnecessary procedures. Remember, I went to a specialist and they went through the same exams as Gold Coast did. They quoted me with a reasonable price for the extraction of my (3) wisdom teeth and did not see any need for additional procedures. So back to my experience here, the doctors kept asking me if I had pain that was unrelated to my wisdom teeth, I kept telling them no. As a matter of fact, they didnāt even address my wisdom teeth. I told them specifically that I am just here for the extraction of my wisdom teeth and nothing more. They started to say that I needed all this procedures like a bone graph, crowns, etc. This is coming from a regular Dentist, not a specialist. Again, I went to a specialist who went over the exams and the specialist just recommended that I remove my wisdom teeth. Anyways, Gold Coast started to rack up the costs and procedures. Iām assuming for the $$$. Some dentists donāt care about the patient and try to rack up the costs for insurance purposes. Again, they kept asking about procedures that I declined. I just wanted my wisdom teeth extracted. On top of that, they quoted me for 4 wisdom teeth when I only have 3, since one was already removed. Anyways, Iām going back to my original dental specialist. Iām not sure why I even tried to get a second opinion. To put it into context, I was quoted $570 for the extraction of my wisdom teeth from the specialist, here I was quoted for $8000. Minus the bonegraphs, etc, I was quoted $2000. Same insurance, same network, different dental provider. I wouldnāt recommend coming here. I donāt think they were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have conflicting feelings about this dental office. It's clean and seemed to be attending to patients in a timley fasion. I have had two visits at this facility and I can say that Becky (the admin...or coordinator) was fantastic! She was kind and helpful. The lady who took my x-rays was also delightful (I'm not sure I caught her name) and my x-ray experience was great. The doctor who handled my temporary crown was nice and did a good job, but I was not given any instructions or information upon leaving. She did introduce herself to me, but I don't remember her name. When the procedure was finished, I was a bit unclear on what to do..so it was an odd customer/patient experience. The assisstant too: she was soo nice and trying her best, and even though she made some mistakes, I do not fault her for it.
**When I came back for my permanent crown...I can't say my visit was too pleasent. The doctor (I never got his name cause he never introduced himself and he didn't know my name until he asked me in the middle of the procedure.) He was not wearing a mask while he was working on my mouth and I was not comfortable with that, he asked me to loosen my cheek and (because I was experience sensitivity and anxiety) when I tensed up he spoke to me rudely "loosen your cheek, that's all I'm asking you to do". He also seemed to be speaking rudely to the assistant. So.. After already feeling stressed out and a bit sensitive, I was holding my own hand/shirt sleeve a bit tightly, he moved my hand away and told me "don't do that, don't be stressed out, there's nothing to worry about" I was not okay with that and I wish I had said something at that time to make him aware that HE was making me uncomfortable. But instead, I was quiet and almost on the verge of tears. The assistant (the same lady as before) was very kind to me and helped clean the cement.
I don't think I will be going back for further work I need done. Maybe if you just need x-rays or a simplecleaning, it will be a great...
