Newly renovated and remodeled... Under new ownership possibly? This used to be Imperial Spa but now it's K-Spa. This is going to be a lengthy and thorough review, so read on. From the point of entry, you are welcomed by friendly staff. To the right of the front desk is their restaurant. To the left is a single nail salon station. After you've paid for your desired package, you enter on the side of your gender (Left = Female; Right = Male). Don't forget to grab a toothbrush and razor if you need one! There won't be any in the bathing area. The entry to the shoe locker room is cozy and serves its purpose. The women's locker room, changing & vanity area is spacious. â˘Pros: clean; well supplied; provides hairdryer similar to Dyson's Hairdryer â˘Cons: stool-benches to sit in front of lockers are small
Bathing/Shower & Pool Areas: Everything is well-kept and towels are well stocked. Although, there are signs reminding everyone not to be wasteful with towels. đ I was also told by an ajumma not to soak the towels in any of the tubs. I'm so used to doing it at other Korean bath houses and was never told not to, so now I know. Different house rules to follow, respectfully! The showers were really spacious, however, I did not like the shampoo & conditioner provided by the facility. Next time, I'll bring my own. They also have soap bars to share and no body wash dispensers.
Common Area: It was pretty empty when I came out there. Barely anyone there at 11am. Saunas: Forest Room was very peaceful. There was an air purifier in the room, which made it sound like a windy forest. I think the room could have used a little more heat and the lights could have been dimmer. Other than that, it was a very nice and quiet room to relax in. Salt Room was just as expected - hot, hot, hot! I really enjoyed how the heat of this room promoted sweating. It was spacious with enough room for at least 8-10 people. Clay Room was also very hot. I enjoyed it almost as much as the salt room! There's also a sitting area for those who would rather sit up higher. Ice Room was not bad. It wasn't cold enough for me, but maybe that's because it was still early in the day. I would have to say be careful where you sit in this room. As the pipes were thawing, the icicles fell off from the pipes and landed on the bench sitting area. Luckily I had moved just moments before or it would have landed on my head. (See pictures for reference.)
Resting Area: Although this area is not as big as these other spa I frequent, it still offers enough space to lounge around and relax. There was also a sitting area with tables where you can bring food from their restaurant over to enjoy. This area also has a projected screen wall and soft ambient music. It was nice to be able to enjoy my snack in the designated area.
Body Scrub & Massage Service Package: The main reason why I came was for this package! Let me tell you, I've been waiting to get this done for awhile now. It did NOT disappoint! The ajumma who worked on me was so nice and thoughtful! I did not feel rushed and she did such a thorough job! I wish they offered a 90-minute service so that the massage could be longer... K-Spa does not offer the fresh cucumber face mask for this service. I didn't mind it though. I think it was a jelly-like mask that was just as cooling and moisturizing. The service ended with a warm milk rub and splash. (I'm still dreaming about it...)
Overall, I really enjoyed my experience today! I think I'll be back...
Read moreI have usually had positive experiences here at K Spa, but todayâs experience is one of a kind, in a negative way.
At about 7pm on Saturday 3/19, staff alerted each other of the âinspectorâs sudden visitâ. At the time I was sitting in the hot tub while one staff member started hosing cold water directly into the hot tub I was sitting in along with a few other clients, while he manually pouring out existing hot water from the same tub using a plastic basin, to âcycle outâ the water in the tub. This was while me and other clients were sitting in the same hot tub. This fish-bowl-water-replenishing-act-without-consent really bothered us who were inside the tub as the unwanted sudden introduction of cold water into the tub dropped the hot water temperature and these unwelcomed activities violently interrupted the relaxation.
Very soon the clients inside the hot tub left that tub due to it being worked on, and immediately the same staff member announced to all clients in the shower room that everyone had to leave the spa due to that âan inspector will be on site to perform inspection soonâ.
People were confused and bothered about whatâs going on and why we were suddenly forced to leave in the middle of a normal business hour, for a usage that we paid for. Why would the fact the Spa had to get inspected required clientsâ cooperation to give up their paid service, and why would the inspection be such immediate on a busy Saturday evening.
I then saw the same staff member putting water sample from the tub being water-cycled, inside a small tub-like clear container, and putting it close to his eyes, apparently attempting to inspect water quality, while another staff member quickly picking up all soap bars from each shower sectors and hiring them away from being present in the shower room.
All these urgent activities, and the kicking everyone out right on the spot, looked to be their attempt to squeeze in some last minute clean-up work in order to pass this upcoming inspections for sanitary codes/standards? But clients definitely didnât appreciate being kicked out while coming to K Spa on a Saturday evening. This is very unprofessional and will be remembered by us who came here today. I feel like this may be illegal too...
Read moreMy first Korean Spa experience was absolutely AMAZING! My friend prepared me beforehand, so I knew what to expect, including seeing other women in the nude đ From the traditional Korean sit-down showers to the warm, hot, and cold tubs, and the wet and dry saunas, everything was top-notch! The facilities were clean, relaxing, and truly luxurious.
After the spa area, I changed into the provided outfit and headed to the co-ed common area, where I could relax with friends and even mingle with other guests. The heated bamboo flooring was so soothing, and the themed rooms, like the ice, clay, and salt room, were incredible and unique. Thereâs even a restaurant on-site where you can order delicious food to refuel during your visit. For an additional cost, you can pay to get amazing massages. And in the facility before you go back to the spa, there are a couple other salons that you could book an appointment to get your hair done or nails done, etc.
A few tips for first-timers: Nudity: Youâll be in the nude in the gender-specific areas, so be comfortable in your own skin, whether you have shaped legs, stretch marks, or anything else. Everyone is there to relax, not judge! Clothing: Wear something easy to take on and off, as youâll be changing multiple times throughout your visit. Hydration: Bring a water bottle or Hydro Flask to stay hydrated. Youâll be sweating a lot in the saunas and hot tubs, so itâs important to replenish fluids. Health Considerations: If you have kidney issues or other health concerns, do your research and consult with a doctor beforehand. Stay hydrated and listen to your body, donât overdo it in the heat if youâre not feeling well.
I 100% recommend KSpa for any occasion, whether itâs a couplesâ retreat, a bachelorette party, or just a relaxing day with friends or family. Itâs the perfect gift idea too, treat someone special to a gift certificate and let them experience this unforgettable...
