This is today after the weather bomb that hit Buffalo during Christmas 2023:
Had an unpleasant experience today with an arrogant officer who kept reprimanding me for even showing up at the border while Buffalo is impacted and some streets are closed. Instead of just saying: Sorry, but the streets are still closed, he went on a 20 question game of: You don't have news where you come from? Do you know nothing about what's happening? Just because it's clean on your side, does it mean it's clean here too? bla bla bla... then he gave me a choice of pretty much trying to proceed into the highway, get stopped by the police and be fined $500 for god knows what, or turn back to where I came from, that of course in addition to some other words he'd throw in occasionally like "You people" and "where you came from", and "Canadians.. errr!" Sarcastically of course! Well, if only they would answer their phone at the border office, I wouldn't have had to make the trip to find out at the border that I shouldn't have come in the first place.
There's really a few ways to deliver the same message, that officer took the longest most sarcastic way, I knew this was coming when I saw the cars in front of me taking 5 min each with him and arguing with hand motions, it was just ridiculous.
Bottom-line, why would I have to go through that hassle and visit Buffalo when I can go somewhere else? This is my 2nd visit, my first one back in 2020, the officer (lady) kept questioning me disbelieving that I'm there to spend a few days in a hotel and change air, she let me in, gave me my passport saying "I don't believe you!"
This crossing point needs a revamp of officers, or at least fixing their attitude, perhaps training them to realize that they're dealing with people and not cattle. Thank you...

(Unprofessional and Disrespectful Treatment by CBP Officer)
I recently crossed the Peace Bridge from Canada into Buffalo, NY, and had an extremely negative experience with a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer. The officer was unnecessarily rude, aggressive, and disrespectful throughout the interaction. He repeatedly interrupted me, refused to let me answer questions properly, and threatened to send me back to Canada without justification.
Additionally, I had an FDA-regulated item to declare, but the officer provided no clear guidance or directions to the FDA office, leaving me confused and frustrated. Instead of assisting, he escalated the situation with hostility.
CBP officers are expected to enforce regulations professionally and courteously. This individual’s behavior was unacceptable and reflects poorly on the agency. I hope this feedback reaches the appropriate supervisors so corrective action can be taken to ensure travelers are treated with basic respect and given proper assistance. I managed to find FDA office myself , they were also uncleared with the instructions and can barely hear them talking. I was asking them if my FDA inspection is cleared, do I need a stamp on PPW? May I go ? Am I allowed to leave? They were not answering the question but kept telling me that its cleared.
I would humbly recommend that giving respect to someone doesn’t cost a penny. Also, using the power of duty in a way to force authority and humiliate others, is such bad practice by a professional officers.
I am proud to say that It doesn’t...

When I went in to secondary, everyone was professional, courteous, jolly and helpful. Kudos to you all for doing your part to make America great again! Jan 4, 2023: I crossed into the US and the officer in the booth was very polite and apologetic when he found out on his computer that I had to go into "holding" as they have a couple of immigration questions for me. Spent 10mins sitting down at their office and my name was called and was asked if I have overstayed my visa years before? I told them "Yes" and I apologized. I didnt go in length and even try to defend myself why I overstayed. I was given a stamp on a piece of paper that I gave to the officer at the door and I was OK to enter the US. Very professional and courteous officers. All they want from you is to tell the truth and return a little courtesy to them... And the truth shall set you free! I also had my share of mean and disrespectful Border Officers who used the term "you people" (I am Filipino Canadian) and threw my documents into his own computer very forcefully that his own pen bounced back on his face, but I do not see him anymore or has been lucky enough to be in the proper lane. They probably sent him to the...
