Wegman's is awesome for too many reasons to list, but I will try anyway, haha. Their baked goods are consistently wonderful and always being refreshed. It's always easy to find someone to help you, and the staff is really great across the board.
They do a nice job of featuring local produce and products - always changing and great quality!
Produce selection and quality is almost always unbeatable, however the prices aren't cheap unless you buy bulk. Even then, you can usually find better individual prices elsewhere, but not the consistent quality and broad selection of Wegman's, so it's a trade-off.
We visit the olive bar and cheese section on every trip. The pesto is PERFECTION and the bulk price is really reasonable; I don't think you can make it for even close to that price unless you grow your own basil.
Deli has great selection and impressively knowledgeable staff. Prices on Wegman's bulk cold cuts is quite good but prices are middle of the road or higher otherwise. You do better on exotic selections at Guercio's.
Natural food section is surprisingly good with a large frozen and refrigerated section as well. Decent prices across the board, usually cheaper than the Co-op. Good kombucha selection, if that's your thing. They even sell the local Bootleg Bucha at a lower price than BB does at their kitchen/store!
Great prices on dairy and Wegman's store brand packaged foods, and the quality compared with other store brands must be embarrassing for the other guys. Whenever possible, we buy the Wegman's brand - pasta, sauce, frozen pizzas, applesauce, oatmeal, peanut butter, cereal, coffee, laundry products, paper products, you get the idea. They are almost always the best value by a pretty decent margin. I think the only store with comparable store brand quality and more competitive prices would be Aldi's, but that is a completely different shopping experience with far less selection. We shop both places, for what it's worth.
Wegman's has THE BEST prepared foods/take out of any grocery, by FAR. Subs, sushi, and rotisserie chicken are priced well but the chafing dish food is by weight and not cheap. It is ALWAYS fresh and delicious, however. The dinner choices section where you choose among a handful of options and they make it for you is very decent, a great healthy weekday option if you don't have time to cook. Moderate prices for take-out.
Overall Wegman's is the absolute best supermarket in the greater Buffalo...
Read moreI called into the establishment to make a purchase over the phone I was instructed to download the app and make purchases through there because of the holiday upcoming. I created an order through the app, the shopper couldn’t find an item, so he submitted a refund. I called to see if I can replace the item, management explained my entire order would be refunded, they apologize I would have to resubmit everything I wanted.
I revisit the app to resubmit my order, changes were made on that order because items couldn’t be found.(Flowers) The app mentioned my item was ready. I pick up my items from curbside I was handed both orders, the new order and the old order the manger told me was canceled and refunded. Now I am charged for both orders even though I made one but was instructed by management I would have to make a second order because I would not receive the first. I called back to speak with someone that was in charge of the entire store, which nothing was resolved but given their word they will talk to the team regarding the miscommunication on their end. I spent more money than I intended to spend because I was forced to make 2x the same order. I was not refunded any money or given the option to return the extra items I was told to pay for
Everything was justified and flipped instead of admitting they made a mistake. I would not be ordering from the Wegmans app moving forward or purchasing from...
Read moreI mainly shop at Wegmans Amherst street, Buffalo or Wegmans Genesee in New York. I use the store for my drugs.Mainly because everything can be in one place. And I can pick up my drugs in Geneseo or Buffalo More. Then on one occasion the pharmacists have been very responsive and checked with the doctor to see if the course of medication was in fact the best for me. In that I'm very sensitive to drugs.I appreciate that very much.
The stores are changing though products that you are used to and have been there for years are all of a sudden gone, such as lemon infused Olive oil., A large Arab flath bread. Salami of a particular brand Wegmans is notorious for having their ownbrands rather than having a choice of other brands.
Their produce is nice, fresh and varied. I also like their fresh flowers. It is very nice that along with the large bouquets they the small $5 variety which are by the pharmacy. I usually get 2 bunches when purchasing so I can afford cut fresh flowers frequently.
Wegmans also provides cart marts for the disabled. THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. staff is always helpful in answering questions or helping reach products off shelves.
its very convenient for me just 2 miles from home
Further they keep the stores well...
