AutoZone Auto Parts — Attraction in Burlington

So I came into this AutoZone on 05/03/25 and bought a ball joint for my driver side lower control arm because it needs to be replaced.  I thought I had enough money to buy a ball joint press machine from harbor freight but did not have enough money. My friend told me about AutoZone's lended tool program so I called them and I asked them if I could use her ball joint press and they told me it would be $160 I told him I did not have that much money and asked him if I brought my control arm into their location would I be able to do it there? Since I was limited on funds. They told me yes I could. So it is now 5/4/25 around 7pm I get too AutoZone and they pull out their ball joint press machine so I could use it. I was having a hard time figuring out how to use it, so one of the workers there and his buddy that was in the store started to help me trying to get my ball joint pressed out. So I let them help me because the guy who worked for AutoZone claimed to b a diesel mechanic, he told me that he had done similar stuff before and that he knew what you was doing. So while they're cranking on my control arm I notice that the coupling is sitting crooked and is not the right size. I informed them of this yet they continue to crank on it to the point where I group very concerned that they were warping the metal on the control arm I eventually tell them I don't think it's working and because you worked at AutoZone inform me that he knew what he was doing. So they kept cranking on it trying to get the ball joint out and I eventually said that's enough I really think that you're warping my control arm. Well I ended up getting the device off and that's exactly what happened is that they warped my control arm and turned a $51  part into a $300 part I already could not afford. Now my car is still sitting on Burlington Blvd at Risk of being towed because these guys wanted to act like they knew what they were doing. Oh and I ended up having to take the ball joint back too because they informed me after all everything was said and done that that was not the right ball joint. And they're the ones that had sold it to...

I bought a radiator here a week or two back, but after I installed it my old cap didn’t fit. I live in Anacortes, and the local oriellys didn’t have a single cap that fit my new radiator.

So I buckled up and drove 8 miles to autozone with coolant spraying out of my unfitting radiator cap praying they had one that would fit and eyeing my temps like a hawk.

Once I got there, the first 3 caps I tried didn’t fit. Then Joshua descended from the heavens of the back room with a cap from a different year, came outside, and the cap fit no problem.

I knew if I didn’t find a cap I’d be towing my car outta the parking lot, so it was the biggest relief to find a fitting cap.

Their computer system is stringent on the make and model of the car, so it can be tough for employees to find things like caps that fit parts if those parts aren’t OEM parts. So Joshua tried a different year of car and that ended up being the magic sauce.

AutoZone is my Go To auto parts chain. I have been to perhaps 10 different ones. This one looks like the rest... Clean and we'll organized.

As a fairly recent transplant to the Skagit valley, we have noticed businesses with a similar flaw that locals may not until they venture out.

There is Definitely a lower level of motivation throughout the area and it was present here at AutoZone as well. I was wondering the store looking for a few items and passed a worker 3 our 4 times.

He offered no greeting or help even though I was the only customer at the time. I also had to wait at the counter for about a minute or so before he noticed.

Truth be told, his lack of interest or involvement will not keep me from shopping there but the level of service truly was less than I have been experiencing at other locations.

4.5 stars for the chain...1.5 stars for the service quality on this day. Thus a 3...
